Has anybody taken Online Classes?
I am currently enrolled full time for the spring/summer semester so that I can complete my degree requirements and graduate in the winter (yay me!) However, I have this Project Management class and the instructor is an insensitive bastard. This is not the 1st time I've taken a class online, most other instructors respect u have a life outside of school, but not this guy he wants work turned in on Mon & Wed and thats it if its after Thurs he locks the link so u can't post your work. That wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't
Mon- Answer 3 questions write essay questions for each one
make up 5 essay questions
post answers to discussion booard
do case analysis in 1-3 page paper format
Thurs- get with your team , do a budget and a proposal, and plan your project
Summerize the readings (about 4 chapters)and why it is important to you
plus I have another class that requires at least a 4 page paper a week respond to weekly questions, plus I work (2 jobs) and I have a 10year old
I explained it to my instructor and he said "I don't see what the problem is"
I am standing in the need of a Zoloft

MissDD138, I've never taken an online class. I didn't know that it was that rough. Things have a way of working out. It's going to be alright.

It is an actual brick and mortar accredited school that offers online classes. Online classes are supposed to be geared toward working people, allowing them to complete courses conveniently from home, but this instructor must have not gotten that memo.

Maybe you need to get with your team (online) before Thursday, and ask how they are managing the load. They might be able to give you some tips.

I was thinking about online classes. I just need to motivate myself a little more and get busy.

It's Like That
Due to the current financial restraints the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Sounds to me like the problem is not the online course, but the fact that you are overwhelmed right now. I actually applaud the instructor, his cirriculum guarantees that you will stay focused, and learn and retain that material, fa sho. I know it seems hard but thats college, gurl!
But that added to 2 jobs (I know; I have 2 myself) and then a child; and then the rest of your life- you have alot on your plate.
But you have to get grounded and get it done. Thats the only way you will achieve what your trying to accomplish. It will all pay off in the long run~*

I never took an online class for college, but I do take them for many of my real estate appraiser continued education requirements. As someone pointed out earlier, making sure they are accredited is a definite must do.
In the future, I would dig a little deeper, beyond the commercial ads and hyperbole about how they cater to the working people. Find out more about scheduling, talk with faculty and professors for specifics on thier flexibility, makeups, extra credits, contingencies for unplanned absenses, etc...
Yeah, sounds like your workload is a little too much for college right now. But that's not to say you can't do it. Keep your head up, charge the hill, and never let them see you sweat.
What don't kill you, only makes you stronger. And you've already proven your strength, or else you wouldn't be in the class.

While I respect all that you have written, online classes are supposed to be geared towards people who have a lot on their plate. All this work doesn't help me to retain anything, except maybe fly through it to turn it in on time. I go to school at night, you know all those commercials about schools that supposed to help working adults. I'm not new to college, this is my 2nd Degree, but I have sense enough to know when someone is being unreasonable. My instructor needs to adjust his curriculum accordingly. 98% of the people taking these classes are adults with families and job. This kind of curriculum would be okay for someone who did not have very much to do other than go to school.
Oh, and after a several nice, nasty e-mails to my instructor, he agreed that he was asking alot and said that he would allow us to turn in our work up until sunday, which was all that I was asking in the first place.

(((( MissDD138)))), did I or did I not, tell you that things have a way of working out? I told you that it was gonna be alright. I'm sure that some of the other students felt the same as you did.
