Good single women without children are seemingly hard to find these days, but a single woman should never be judged soley on the fact that she has a child or two, because you never know what her circumstances might be. She could be divorced or abandoned by her man, it could be anything. Therefore, I think it's a little short sighted to dismiss a GOOD woman based on this alone without knowing her circumstances.

Now if she's "laying up" with anything that comes knocking at her door, and has SEVERAL children out of wedlock as a result of this, I can clearly see your point.

I too want a woman without children, but if I find a GOOD woman with ONE child under the age of 10, then I'll definitely consider dating her or even marrying her. :)

I see where you are coming from but the reason why i disqualify any woman who has a child is because i am the kind of guy who thinks about the future. I also take my relationships seriously. Any relationship that i could get into now could very well be my final one. I don't want to be anyone's stepdad, no, not at all. I'm 22. The likelihood that any woman in my age group who has a child, was once married is extremely slim. Furthermore stats show that the vast majority of people who have children by the time they are in their early 20's started having sex at thirteen, fourteen . If i were 40 i would have no problems considering a woman who had a child whilst married or not but whilst i'm still young and fresh, nah. I couldn't handle that. I give too much of myself when i am in a relationship. I wouldn't want to become attached to another man's child, apo ndaramba (that's shona for "oh hell naw" - i refuse). What if that relationship, at no fault of mine came to an end when i had established a bond with the kid? I know i couldn't just move on and forget about the kid. I just can't afford to put myself in that position, emotionally.

I dont even know where to start, but here goes

1. People who call children bastards because their parents aren't married. NO CHILD HAD A CHOICE OF HOW IT GOT HERE....i wrote this because of the previous post...from mr educated

2. People who say what they won't do because you never know what you will do given different circumstances.

3. People who are so "educated" but still say stupid stuff.

4. Self righteous buttholes.

Envious people

Classless women who say that i am such a square and that they think that i piss fruit juice. I get angry because i know that they will be trying to patronise me because i am not a gun weilding, drug fiending, squalor loving *** like their man.
People who tell me that i don't act black because i am a think geek, my jeans don't sag, i like button down shirts, i am in my early twenties with no kids, i articulate myself well and i am proudly not a thug.
People who can't mind their own business.
Men and women who perpetuate negative stereotypes about black people.
People who think they are holier than God himself.
Hmmm..looks like you're perpetuating quite a few negative stereotypes yourself Jackson.

Clearly no child can choose how they get here. However, bastard is just another way of saying illegitimate. It may be used less often in this context but it means the same thing. The last time i checked children born out of wedlock were just that, "illegitimate" and as i noted in my post, my anger is not at them, it's at people who go ahead and have children out of wedlock under the circumstances that i referred to above. Their illegitimate behaviour is what's to blame, not an innocent child who is the result of it.

I am surprised I missed your post before. Your claim is unsubstantiated at best. I did state that people who perpetuate stereotypes about black people anger me. A stereotype is perpetuated by bad conduct. It’s perpetuated by a commission and in certain circumstances an omission. The thread starter has received numerous responses from people stating what irks them. Why do the responses vary in nature? It’s because they are opinions and opinions are subjective in nature even though they tend to be informed by certain experiences we have had. Please tell me how stating my opinion derived from my experiences and observations can be perceived as perpetuating negative stereotypes about black people. Whether or not a stereotype has been perpetuated is something which can be judged objectively. Simply because some of the things I have said don’t sit well with you, it does not mean that my conduct, by proffering my opinion has perpetuated anything negative.

Jackson, you are very articulate, congratulations! However, I will not debate with you. My post was my opinion. Your posts in this topic have annoyed me. Consider me thoroughly "irked".

I assumed you would not be up for a debate. If you're irked, that's fine, opinions tend to do that to people sometimes. What momentarily irked me is the fact that you went on to say that i had perpetuated a negative stereotype simply because i said something which you obviously didn't like. The transparent truth is that i did not perpetuate anything and that is the only reason why we are not getting into a debate right now. However, i have no problem letting bygones be bygones. Infact, i'm feeling cool as a cucumber now :) . Cheers

It was cute, but not nearly as cute as some of your posts ma'am. If you're careful with your assumptions, i'll make more of an effort to articulate my facts in a more sensitive manner. Aurevoir :)
