Also, I fear being walked out on due to things that happened to me when I was little. I wonder if there's a phobia for that?!
Yea, maggots are soooo disquisting...I remember someone threw-um-"roadkill" on the grass. It had been sitting there for weeks...
Anyways, I used to walk to work from home-& the "roadkill" was only a foot away from me (I think, I turned my head, I didnt want to look at that)...all of a sudden I heard crunching-noises underneath my feet.
I looked down, there were thousands of them!!! I screamed & ran over them...uggggh. I was ready to cry, I was terrified.
Yes, I used to fear being walked out on when I was little too. I am not sure if anything happened to me or not.
But the fear is not as bad now, I just dont like being by myself for a couple of hours. I try to occupy my time when its mandatory for me to be alone.

well lets see..ive always been afraid of them dang snakes!!..boy they just freak.. me.. out!!. But what im learning is if youre afraid, it helps to look around and see others dealing with what you fear. (that little bitty garter snake aint gonna swallow me whole)...now I have to work on the snake thing lol,but I use to be afraid of swimming too(dont ask me why, but I just couldnt seem to float at all).it was not until recently that I had been in a swimming pool ,been over 15yrs!! quite sad...However I was forced to because of phys therapy.Well its been a couple sessions and now I enjoy it..other fears..mice,speaking in front of large groups, list goes on but...knocking them down one by one..:

OOOOMMMMGGGG I am DEATHLY afraid of maggots!!!
IDK if its the fact that maggots eat LIVING THINGS!!!
I remember i was dumping the trash one HOT SUMMER DAY, and saw China's population of maggots all up in the walkway all over the trash can, and any where you could think of touching.

But get this, i didn't even NOTICE them until i was IN THE MIDDLE of the mess! Girl i musta cried something VICIOUS and took like 7 showers. UGH.

I am absolutely terrified of bees and wasps. if one comes near me i freeze then i run away super fast screaming. i wont go outside for and hour if a bee flies past my front door. If one flies in my car i pull over get out and wait for it to go away....from a safe distance. my sister used to tease me all the time about it. I also hate to be alone. and i have a fear of being raped, so i carry i knife, and pepper spray every where i go. and i have a sword(which i know how to use) in my bedroom. ^_^

I only have 2 fears/phobias. 1. I really, really don't like needles (Trypanophobia) even though I've had to deal with it at certain times in my life. As a child I had to be physically restrained before they could give me the shot but, as an adult, as long as I know that it's coming and I look at a wall or something nowhere near that needle I'm OK, usually sweating profusely, but OK.

2. I didn't see it on the list but, I have a fear of most dead bodies (for some reason that I can't explain, cut up clean food i.e steaks, chicken, etc doesn't bother me) It really trips my kids out because they see me as this big strong man but let a fish, gerbil, dog become a corpse. I go from big strong man to pleading "how much do I have to pay you to go dump that in a dumpster?" The kids know that they can get at least $20 outta me. It's bad enough that the few times that I go to funerals, I get away from the corpse ASAP while still showing my respects (this included my late Mother!)

mlc0908, I'm with you on "don't play with my fears!!" I will try to contain myself the best way that I know how but if you try to touch me with a needle or even a dead body even an uncleaned fish, there are going to be 2 people that are very sorry who will promise to never do that again!!

im also afraid of needles and have had to held down on more than 1 occasion. as for dead bodies, not a problem for me, but i did have a friend who had the same fear as you. she couldn't even be around road kill. id help her the best i could then laugh at her, and she would get her payback with the bees. all you gotta do is say bee and im off! haha I hope ur able to find a way to better manage ur phobias
