Why the hell cant BET have normal programming on Sundays, I was watching it earlier and they had some show on about the Dale Earnheat foundation.
Someone tell me what the *&^# the Dale Earnheart foundation has to do with black entertainment.
Come on Viacom get it together

BET aint U and ME!
Sorry to break it to ya, but Black Entertainment Television hasn't been owned or run by Blacks for more than a year now. Mr. Bob Johnson the former owner was made the first Black billionaire when he sold BET to a larger corporation (Viacom) cause he wanted to own his own airline. Well guess what happend to this guy! Not only did the "White" owners of the airlines effectively shut him out of the buisness but on top of no longer owning BET he and his wife got divorced shortly afterwards and ...here's the funny (sad) part .... She got almost half of everything! So now, he can't even claim to be a billionaire anymore. Viacom has no interest in what the Black community wants unless it's profitable for them. Thats one of the reasons why Tavis Smiley was fired from BET.
Remember, support Black buisnesses, start your own buisness and don't sell out!!

Thats right JamieC. All this happend in March of 2001. Wake up people! find out who owns and controls the sources of your information. Will the newspapers and TV programs offer you the truth if the articles are written by liars?

networks
Thats right yall! There are other sources of programming geared toward either all Black or an ethnicly diverse audience. TVONE is just one of them. The Word Network is another one that focuses on all Christian values. Their programing includes Gospel music performances, lectures and sermons from well know religious leaders around the country. Nothing really secular. I am sure there are a few others that I haven't heard of. What we as Black people need to do is contact our cable and satellite providers and demand more programing from ethnically diverse contributers. It's out there struggling to be seen. Hoe many of us ever heard of NUETV? It was a Black owned network started by some very well know Black celebraties like quincey Jones. Unfortunately it only lasted about a year. There is an excellent network that focuses on global issues, called LINKTV. Is only available right now by satellite but theu offer an incredibley diverse range of programs. Even their music videos come from all over the world (ever see an egyptian rap? No it's not a mummy joke! LOL)If you change where your news and entertainment come from you will litteraly change your way of thinking.
