WHY IS IT SOME AFRICAN AMERICANS HAVE THE VIEW THAT TO BE OF ANY VALUE AS A BLACK WOMAN OR MAN (but for me woman) YOU MUST BE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN.
For too long I tend to get this condescending attitude that African Americans are better than your brothers and sisters in the diaspora.. Just reread some of the threads particularly relating to relationships..
WHY IS THAT???

Trinigirl, yes we are all the same. I have never understood the debates and conditions between black people from different regions.
I remember my ex boyfriend who is from Jamaica use to tell me also how he was treated when he first got here, but he also told me how there is constant battles between some Jamaican's and people from Trinidad, and i remember asking the same question, but aren't we all the same.
It's crazy to me considering when the boat crossed the Atlantic, ALL of our ancestors were on the same boat, but just dropped off and brutilized in different locations.
I embrace all my brothaz and sistaz regardless what country we come from because yes we are all the same.
Let me ask you a question, because I've been curious about this, is this why a lot of people from the West Indies are so closed off a lot of the time with black americans because of the in house discrimination?
If so, let me be the first to say, a lot of us don't feel that way, and for the ones who do, I truely apologize on their behalf.
