I read all the comments and thanx for all the good advice everyone. I'm definitely getting into money management as we speak. I'm just tired of people approaching about money to spend on things that won't do me any good later on. Between a mortgage to pay (one bedroom condo), a car that needs fixing, my basic needs (of course, its a given), and doign the music, its a bit of a stretch. But yeah, I've gotten better than what I used to be.
Matter of fact, as we speak......I've set a plan to get my credit in better shape than what it is by the end of the year. Its good of course (I mean, I own property, c'mon) but I need it better. Since I'm planning to move and travel within the next few eyars.

Already done that and I still do it. And I still get bitchslapped by capitalism. Trust me......living in the city will make you appreciate simple things like drinking water and having a little something to eat. I often look at homeless dudes and wonder what happened to them. Like did they have it all, blow their money on luxuries, and end up on the street. I shudder and remember I need to get my hustle up and not splurge on crap I don't need.

I had to TEACH a niece this. As Robert Kiyosaki would state, "ask yourself...is this taking money out of my pocket or PUTTING money in my pocket?
Think of YOUR MONEY in terms of people as either a LIABILITY or an ASSET.
Also, "training" yourself to become disciplined with your money will serve you well. You appear to be on the right track. Good luck.

My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income. ~Errol Flynn
Sums it up for many of us, including me on occasion and I'm very good at money management and prioritizing. I will say this the less you indulge yourself the more rewarding it is when you do. It sounds trite, but I assure its true, unfortunately its not easy. Good luck brother stay focused.

I think we've all been where you are with regard to money management. I utilize Crown for most of my money managment needs and information as well as Suzie Orman. Both sites have a wealth of info. I can honestly say I've grown by leaps and bounds because of both. If I may recommend this book to you, I'm sure it will be a tremendous help for your household as it has been for multiplied thousands of others the world over. Check it out.

If I can help you in any way, let me know...including sowing that book into your life. All the best,

I agree with you---Suzie Oberman, "is right on the money" in working with YOUR money. Also, Ardamus, Black Enterprise: Guide to Investing is an excellent read as well. Check it out.
