Have You Had to Cuss Anybody About Imus?

Fortunately, I haven't had to take it there with anyone. I agree with the other posters in that, sometimes, you just can't explain yourself enough. They just don't get it. It's either that, or they think they do and try to relate something that is nowhere near what we go through or deal with to something that happened to them or a friend.

I dont even bother getting myself worked up anymore. Since this whole Imus mess white people have gotten a shot of im not scared of blacks juice. You will end up blue in the face trying to argue with white people. I play spades on yahoo and the white people there have been throwing around the word n***** like it's water. They think it's funny to sit in the game lobby and say my last partner was a nappy headed ho ot b****. I think it's sad that this one man said something and now whites are coming out the wood works to show there true colors because they feel Imus did it so why can't they.

You know whats surprising me about this whole Imus issue? its that black, people are still surprised. I mean come on folks, we've had haters since Plymouth Rock. The only thing that really chaps my hide about Imus's statement is that it was directed at college kids. I guess maybe its just me but, Im tired of walking on egg shells around the race issues. In other words, to hell with political correctness, If you think Im a n*gger let it be known, that way atleast I'll know where you stand. Instead of having white folks walk around with the fake smiles, and saying stupid crap like, 'you know some of my best friends are black.' You feel me? You see, if we hush up these people just to be pc, then ignorant negroes will continue to walk around thinking life is grand.

I never waste my breath trying to explain the AA experience to white folk, unless they ask a paticular question, upon which time I enlighten them with the quickness. Otherwise, dont cast your pearls to swine... Trying to make white folk see the black American perspective is like trying to teach a fish to walk on two legs. It aint going to happen.

I concur. Being politically correct is no more than, "Well I think that you/all of you really ARE so and so but etiquette and the social niceties dictate that on the surface that I APPEAR to be amicable and civil towards you." Being political correct is what it has always been--a facade of how individuals really feel.
