I am marking this day, As this day as other days I again witnessed the selling of drugs inside of an establishment,

The establishment being The Marathon Gas Station on the corner of Roosevelt Rd and Independance Blvd

3731 W Roosevelt RdChicago IL the name is M&S Gas & Food

I went to the police station on Ogden 10th District, And spoke to an officer, who told me there was nothing they

could do. I say there is, as regentrification comes we will see how much can be done. hmmm

Anyway I am sending this to my senator, and I would ask, that those of you who also have these attrocities being perpetrated in your communities to do the same. In my community the police have the time and manpower to set uproad blocks (so called safety inspections, but cannot deter crime, in my community the police have the time to give tickets at all hours of the morning for expired stickers and plates but no manpower to stop the drug trade in open view in my community the police do not even respond to 911 calls, I have on several occasions called because of something happening, but the police did not respond/Anyway with all that being said. I suggest we start a campaign, of reporting not only to the police districts in our communitiesbut to follow up by sending the same info to our Aldermen, Congressmen and Senators. Lets put an end to some of the tragedy in our communities, on last note the police have time to shoot and kill, beat and maim our people, but no time to

protect and serve

Seriously

That doesnt surprise me. The police in certain areas--Lawndale, Englewood, Humboldt Park, etc--are not as effective as they are in other areas--Beverly for example.

If you live in those areas its best to get up a block club or a neighborhood watch and address your concerns as a group--which wont be easy, as many people are scared.

I moved to Alsip, I couldnt deal with the city anymore.

If they stop the drug trade this nation would collapse, I was born and raised in Chicago until I moved 9 years ago so I know the neighborhoods you speak of. I commend you for what you are doing.

It is amazing to me that the areas of cities that have the higest level of police officers have the highest amount of crime. One could say because of the crime the police are there, I say what's the point of having them there if the crime continues to remain high and they will not respond to the citizens. My addition tells me that more cops equal more crime.

I mean really, you go in some neighborhoods and you see a cop on every block, that means those neighborhoods should be safe. Yet, that iis not the case so what is the purpose of those police officers.
