Two Closed Threads?

I realized that a long time people who start and run these messages tend to treat them as their own personal "fiefdoms." That freedom of speech is a foreign concept. What you'll get from Rex is my unbridled, uncensored opinion on a myraid of subjects. I don't expect people to agree with me, however in the interest of fairness, I do expect that when I put something out there, that I'm given the common courtesy of posting a response. Especially when people come with the same tired nonsense of about me "having issues," instead of addressing the comments in my post.

If I run the risk of being censored or having my threads closed, simply because I don't conform to the standards of decency of the forums administrator, then let me know now and I'll leave.

You have the audacity, to talk about respect, but how can you speak of respect when you don't even respect the next person's opinion.

If this is a happy-happy, joy-joy site and critiques of women and baffling behavior isn't allowed, then you need to say so. Another thing DBlack, when you get home tonight, ask you wife or girlfriend can you see her purse. You'll find your ball in there.

The threads were closed because in my judgedment, they were simply divisive, and the same ole rant and rave from you-know-who. Unlike you, Mr. Rex, I and most others here can disagree and be respectful.

AfroChat is not a democracy, nor is it a cesspool for people to say anything they wish. YOu continue to ignore rules, and feedback that staff and fellow members have given you over and over. It's evident that you simply don't give a damn about this community and what it stands for. Yet, I continue to give you chance after chance after chance.

You continue to echo the same theme over and over and over and over. AFroChat is not a place for this type of mundane, devisive, repetitive rhetoric.

And then, you come back with this post and make personal attacks against me. I never made such attacks against you. If you had read the rules, you would know why the threads were closed and/or deleted. But, you know what, I"m going to let your post stand so you can be a living example of What is a continued black eye to black message boards.

I'm not even mad at you making personal attacks on me. Actually I feel sorry for you. I feel that your ridiculous lashing out is your way of dealing with personal demons you are wrestling with and sincerely hope that one day you can defeat them.

I'm not going to get into the back and forth with you, but will finish with these choices that you have to make:

You can either choose to be a mature, and positive element of AfroChat or vacate permenantly and immediately. No need to make a scene. If you choose to leave, show some honor and respect for yourself and not engage in insults or personal attacks agains me or members of the community.

We deserve better. And you deserve a messaage board where others like you can get together and talk about how you hate our sistahs, over and over and over and over and over and over....................

This is the perfect site for the aforementioned suggestion. Only thing is, about two years ago they closed their forum board because they could not take the righteous heat from brothas and sistahs disagreeing with their bullyish and irate ways. SMH* would have been simply perfect for homeboy.

Part of me says that I should take time out, organize my thoughts, do a few drafts, rewrite, then in a concise, cogent, and methodical way, break apart one of the most weakest, asinine, and blantantly arrogant responses that I've ever heard in my life, but I won't waste my time, instead I'll respond with only five words which will drive the point home, F*CK YOU AND F*CK THAT!!!!

Now to anybody else who posts on this message board, do you really want to be a apart of a "community," where a dissenting opinion isn't respected. The jerk-off himself said that this "isn't democracy." What happens when one you of posts something that this effin' moron doesn't agree with?

Dude, you in your unbelivable arrogance (which says alot because I'm an arrogant muthaf*cka) claim to feel sort of piety for me? But who's actually in of piety. A guy that supposely has "issues," with women, or an insecure, effeminized, esmaculated, obsequent "man-b*tch," who only gets meaning in an otherwise vacuous existence via a messageboard that he proudly proclaims isn't a "democracy." If you ask me, it's the latter of the two.

And don't bother banning me dude, I won't be back.

I dont even agree with DBlack a lot of the times, but I can say the forums are the best in the cyber world. I also have to agree that most of your posts are about black women, pick a new topic.

I am a man Rex and i often don't agree or go along with DBlacks opinions, but there is away to dissent and not too. Disparaging all black women for whatever wrong was done to you by one sista is not the way to heal. I think. If you cannot separate the opinion from the poster, perhaps you need to step away and find a site that allows a free for all with no checks.

Incidently, one other thing about this place Afrochat is that they have some members and not just the mods, or founder who will put you on notice,if you cross a decency line. I think that is very good for any chat site to have folk to monitor and keep hateful and disrespectful rhetoric down.

"Peace to you brotha!" "Uhm, i have big balls by the way,but they use to get crushed alot, because i did not choose wisely some of the battles i fought. "Do you think you really have to go down gun blazing on a disagreement on a chatroom is all i'm saying. Again, peace brotha!

Afros? Is this the type of person you want here?

I didn't think so. Your posts reveal much more about you than I could ever convey.

For those who care...

AfroChat, like many forums, have rules. Many people register and don't even read the rules. They just click the accept button and register.

If anyone here want's to debate a hot topic, then by all means, do so. I may even participate. But if you want to keep on and on and on with the same theme, starting the same thread/topic continuously, all the while hijacking other conversations, I will simply close or delete the offending thread. It's in the rules. And all of us, including Maximus Rex, AGREED to abide by the rules. The rules are not democratic; there's no election or vote on the rules. But every member is given a choice, and when you accept the rules at registration, you thereby agree to participate with other Afros to build rather than destroy.

It's that simple...

You handled this VERY well, DBlack...I'm sure many here disagree with some of the thoughts I've shared so far, but no GENUINE Brother or Sister has expressed their differences by insulting me or questioning my right to express myself (I'll withhold comment on MR for the moment---not important in the great scheme of things)...that kind of nastiness and negative energy can be found on hundreds of other sites on the net, and I've experienced several of them. I have deep gratitude for the "family haven" of Afro Chat, and I look forward to more positive connections and uplifting exchanges in the future. Viva Afros!

Let me add that I find it disturbing (and oddly amusing) that certain people become threatened and angry when Black folk gather together in a positive way to discuss our history, our future, our thoughts, the necessity for revolutionary change, etc. But I'm not worried. I'm not fearing any man. We shall not be moved. (DIG IT)

DBlack,

As always, a class act. I've watched how you make an opposing arguement for some time. And although many times I've disagreed with your point of view, I always honor your delivery. Thank you for maintaining class, style and dignity here at AFRO CHAT. We appreciate that. Keep doing what you're doing. And keep doing it your way. As others have stated, there are many forums on the net with styles that run the gamut. So it's not very difficult to find one that fits a particular personality or interest. I for one love this site. Don't post often, but always read and expand my thinking by the information offered here.

Have a lovely day,

Nyela

Show of hands for those who will be losing sleep because of this.

I must say that DBlack and I don't agree on most topics, on several as of late. There have been a few instances where we do agree, but they have been few. I can give credit where it is due, and he absolutely will not tolerate women bashing in any form.

But if Maximus had presented his convictions in a dignified, adult manner, perhaps actions would not have been taken against him. There have been several people that have come on here with their quips about black women, but they did so in a respectful manner. We went back and forth regarding their issues and discussed the issues amicably, without all of the disrespect. Although he presented his case in a disrespectful manner, I put aside my personal convictions regarding him and addressed the questions he presented, as by me stooping to his level wouldn't resolve anything.

I believe all people have a right to their opinion. But when you get mad at others for not agreeing with your opinion those rights become null and void - hence Mr. Maximus. :)
