Crazy white folks - AfroChat - African American

Check this out A/C, I'm in my office and this two whiteboys are just outside of it talking about the amount of work their boss has them doing. One of them proceeds to say "damn this dude is a slave driver, check my back for whip marks." They both got a chuckle but I had to get up and step out so they can see the utter shock on my face of a whiteboy talking about slave drivers and whipping. I know I'm not the only one to hear something so ridicules, so A/C what is one of the craziest things you've heard from these ignorant folks that made you just stop and look, asking yourself "are they serious?" "Are these fools crazy?"

Two years ago I was providing assistance to another department who was really busy. They were analyzing spreadsheets and couldn't get a macro to work on the computer properly. One of the clients had been calling to get the spreadsheet sent to them via email ASAP and they couldn't get it to work properly. So, the manager told the analyst to "just ni99er-rig" ("N" word) the spreadsheet. I looked at her (who was white) and so did he (who was also white).

As it turns out she used the same phrase again in the presence of another white guy and a black manager. The manager reported her to human resources and this has been place on her permenant record and she is on probation as we speak for a year. I gave my account to the manager as well so that human resources would know that this was not the first occurrence or just a freak slip of the tongue.

There was another incident about a month ago involving a new black girl that had just started here. She came into our department and the same white lady as mentioned above says "you are the prettiest black woman I have ever seen." The girl was so shocked she just said "Thanks, I think." Why couldn't she just have said you are very pretty??? Always drama with this woman.

in high school we had a slave-for-a-day auction. there was less than 30 black kids in the whole school and i didn't really know how best voice my objections so i didn't say anything. idk about the others though.

in college i belonged to a mixed church and once when we were having a car wash one of the white elders came to get his car washed and joked, "get to work, slaves!" no one else seemed to take offense.

maybe i'm just too sensitive

I was working at this departmentg store some time ago. Me another sistah were very close and tried to work with each other all the time. Well we were at the register along side a white manager. An older white ladie came to the register to purchase. She specifically asked for the white manager to ring her purchase because she was using a credit card and "didn't want us to get it." Her credit card number.

I heard this again. Another white woman and a man came up to my register to purchase. The man told the woman to use the credit card instead of the money and she said, "no, I don't want her to get it." I must look like a thief, LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :

Boy I tell you, what a stupid thing to say. Put the capitol S in stupid and forced Webster to add another "d."

No, your not too sensitive. The "slave for a day auction" really shocks me. What type of ignorant bullshit is that?

About 4 years ago when I first began working where I'm currently employed, I started out in a department working with a real skinny, bony white woman, about 5'10" tall, about 95 pounds, who was married to a Black man. This woman was so skinny and flat until if she appeared on the beach TOPLESS, no one would be offended because her chest was so flat, there was nothing there to cause offense. She was so skinny that if she didn't have knee-caps you'd never know where the leg stopped and the thigh part of the leg began, but she thought she was God's gift to this Black man. Anyway, she once addressed me as "Sister-girl" and I immediately told her that in spite of her being married to a Black man, she was not my sister, and I had not been a girl for many years and she'd better never address me that way again!

But what really got me was, one day day she was on the phone doing her usual thing, yelling at this man she'd married (all they ever did was argue) and before the conversation ended she called him a "Ni%%er" and hung up on him! I turned around and told her if she ever used that word around me again, I would break off one of her bony, skinny little arms and beat the hell out of her with her own arm! I never had any more crap from her after that!

Sephari, you must be joking, right?!?!? If this isn't racism I don't know what is. The entire school board should have been fired - no questions asked.

I'm reminded of a lot of instances where racism played its wicked hand. One in particular was when I got out of college, I went to work for a department store. The store had been open for almost 100 years and most of the employees had been white, with the exception of a manager who had been there for a while. I worked with two black guys (the manager and another guy they had just hired) and two white older guys. The white guys were out to lunch when an elderly lady came in with her care taker who was black. So, it was myself and the two black guys in the store. She said, "Yall done took over, huh?!?!" We looked at each other knowing that she meant you black people have taken over the store and are now in charge.

We said nothing. So I guess she took it as we didn't hear her and she said it again "I said yall done took over the store." I looked her square in the eyes and with my smart mouth said "We certainly have!" She was sooooo mad she didn't make a purchase and left immediately. The guys almost died laughing and told me I was crazy. I said no she is crazy for coming in here with that slave mentality and I'm only making a few tokens above minimum wage too. She will get whatever she dishes out.

She did return to the store almost a month later. I guess she had gotten her panties out of her @ss because she was much more pleasant. ;)

no i wasn't joking there was an auction in the cafeteria for some kind of event or charity. there were no chains or play-mistreatment just 'good natured fun'. if memory serves me correctly there were no black or mixed kids involved, but i could be wrong, i didn't feel like hanging around there.

I take it that was the phrase they used to describe the event "good natured fun". To me it is the equivalent of blacks having a comedy series and poking fun at the holocaust and praising Hitler and then saying its just "good natured fun".
