The question isn't if Florida made the right choice but will justice ever be served. Shutting down the Boot Camps doen't solve the problem because they will place them in homes, prison, and other youth facilites were they will still be victimized.

Yes, they need to serve time for the crimes or what wrongs they have done but they are also human beings and need to be treated as such.

Under the new law, instead of sending juveniles to boot camps, children will go to residential programs that outlaw guards from using "harmful psychological intimidation techniques" on children, the use of pepper spray and Tasers. The children will go through a full medical exams when they enter and leave their programs, and have a hot line they can call in case of trouble.

They say what they won't do, but it doesn't say what they will do to rehabilitate problem teens. That's always a tough one.
