I can’t see not talking to someone specifically because of their race. You do that, you put yourself on the same level as white racists. And mn, F that. I’ve know plenty of shitty white people over the years, and some good ones, too. I dunno. If a person is a good person, great. Treat me well and I’ll do the same. I mean, forget about good white people – good PEOPLE in general are hard enough to find these days/

White people don’t know what it’s like to be black, but hell, I don’t know what it’s like to be white, either. The only way white people can even begin to understand the black experience is to know and talk to black people, learning to understand their minds and experiences. If a white person is willing to do that, great. May not happen very often, but when it does, I think it’s a good thing. Only way the future can be better if more of that happens.

As a whole, no, surely not, but I will say this: Get just one or two white people hanging out with a big group of black people, or have a white family living in a predominantly black neighborhood, and you have big power to make them a social outcast. Maybe just for that day or until they move out (don't they always?), but when you're the majority, YOU get to control the social order. :)

I would just like to state something I said in another thread. We can not become like the majority of them and generalising all of them. We all of us do not fit the sterotypes they put out about us in general but we all know people who do fit those molds. I do believe without the help of some sincere white people, our Civil Rights would not have advanced as far and as fast as it did in the sixties, a few of them were shot dead for helping us. We still have a long way to go in demanding what is rightfully ours and I say demand because they are not going to give us ish, we have to take it. We need a return to the activism that prevailed among our parents and grandparents during that era or else we are failing our children and future generations and I'm sure there are still some sincere whites out there that will help us but we have to take the initiative and the lead. Where are the Malcoms of Martins of today? Did they sell out to the establishment?
