Well...as far as the government as we should know by now DOESN'T CARE.

If it makes them money as well, doesn't matter who it hurts they will get more tax breaks and enjoy every bit of the negativity it instills in the youth.
I agree with poet that this is not unlike every other game out these days. You have too many situations of this but I brought this one to every ones attention because it is one of the most blatant display of how the see our people.

San Andreas depicted what these "people" think of us here in Amerikkka

This new Resident Evil game thinks our of people in Africa as monsters.

It is a sick cycle that is up to us to destroy, beyond these games we must kill off the sports games that are driven by buying "bling" (NBA Ballers, NBA Street, Def Jam fighting games etc.) They have a large market of games devoted to selling us back these stereotypes that keep these negative idea's in place.

All of the issues we face today are our problem now....because they hurt only us.

That trailer doesn't really show any context. That's the problem. I play games and have played all the other Resident Evil games so I know what the score is but everyone else doesn't. They was all filled with shooting white people, just so you know. The bad guys are a big white corporation who mess up everything around them and turn people into zombies. The people in this trailer are VICTIMS who have been EXPLOITED by this white corporation's research, so the deal is you have to stop this corporation before they vitimize more people. The whole thing with the zombie genre even in movies is that your supposed to be like "this is F'ed up what they did to these people! The government or whatever screwed these people up and now someone has to put a stop to it!" That's just zombie stories even in the movies. That's why for me this doesn't look like a big deal. It looks like they going to take the story from all the other games and bring it back to where it began so you can stop those fatcats from screwing people up once and for all.

I see and understand exactly what you are saying, I have seen the other games and fully understand the issue and story line at hand. The problem that comes from this games is always....Those who don't understand the story of the past and take it all from face value.

If they want to make a valid story and try to fix this problem ending it all where it started....why not just go to the great big corp. office and start blasting there?

This post is more of a "look at what is being done in the video games...maybe its time to take a look at more area's of the genre and fully understand that there must be some underlying idea's here. The nobility of the story line is lost once you play up the usual victims AS VICTIMS.

We not build a story line with a end all fix all where your in the middle of London or New York where (like this game) is "innovative" in the amount of enemies you have to face on the screen at one time. It has just become a sickening replay of the same idea that African people need to be saved.

I hear you on that. I agree that people will look at this trailer and just see a white dude shooting up Africans with pretty graphics, and that sends a bad message out there. It could have been handled a different way. Not everyone is going to know what its really about.

Worse than this though is the GTA games that you were talking about. San Andreas painted a bad picture of us. People think that **** is for real and that's how we all are. That's bullsh**.

well shouldnt music, that shows us glorifying slanging drugs, playing the roles of pimps, gangsters, shooting up our areas & each other over territory, having more respect for the almighty dollar, rather than the almighty himself,( not to sound soo religious) be held in the same regard as these video games painting the bad picture of us.. just a ? to anyone.....

Yes, I believe it should. I believe we ought to hold ourselves to a higher standard and we ought to ralize that when we show those images to the world, that's all the world sees of us. I do not single out video games. I LOVE video games.

All of it is exploitation. We cant get pissed at this and not be pissed at other games. Sure it looks like Shay whitey to the rescue but, its nothing we have not seen and sure its art imitating life but it is what it is. I dont make light of it but unless we are willing to come down on those who reinforce stereotypes and promote criminality we are hypocrites at the end of the day. Its wrong but then again a whole lot of other stuff is too.

I have to agree,... as disturbing as this game is, that is the least of our problems. I personally see that the problem is in the entertainment industry as a whole. GTA San Andreas is a perfect scenario in which there is a double standard when it came to games.

Why is it that when the main character of a game happens to be black and is doing what every other GTA title has done before was so bad??? It's obvious what the issue is, yet people tended to skirt around the race issue and blamed it on the sex and violence in the game itself, slapped an "A" for adult rating on the box and then quietly banneded it. You will not find this game in any game store and if you have it, they wont buy it back from you.

Crap... GTA 4, the new one that just came out is far more hardcore in which you can pay for sex and you can see the act of sex being preformed through the car windows, and yet it sored to the #1 spot on every gamer list.

Change is not going to come unless we make the change ourselves, that is why I'm doing what I personally have to do to fix this problem.

There are others out there who are making a difference when it comes to how we are portrayed in the gaming industry. Check out the game for XBox360: CRACKDOWN. The first African Super Hero, I have it... very cool.

I'm not sure if the creator of CRACKDOWN is African, but I do know that there is an all African Game Team creating a whole new wave of games that does not make us look like thugs and gangsters, but hero's to look up to. They just need the distributors.

Of course and no ones forgeting those few "drop squad future customers"
They are no different than the Klan in most cases because they just add to the problems of our people but banking off the negativity.

The video games are one of the area's to be on the watch for because for the most part we don't put the games out NOW FOR THE MUSIC

We are the center piece of that area and we are and should be demanding what images are put out with our face on it that includes the games.

But both area's go down to sales....who buys the most of both, little white kids from the suberbs that know nothing about who we really are and that's dangerous. What's worst is the fact that on both ends we should be in better control of our images.
