The comparison that can be made between Noah’s Ark of which was set afloat in the year 2356 B.C. and the Ark of the Covenant of which was made by the year 1436 B.C. becomes uncanny with respect to symbolism and spirit. For even though the size of each ark carries an enormous difference, they were both in the shape of a rectangular box and, they both pertain to ‘life’. Inside Noah’s Ark were the only souls left alive on the whole planet and through them comes all life. And inside the Ark of Moses was the very ‘Covenant of Life’ also known as the Covenant that the ‘living’ God made with mankind and of which were stone tablets that later became known as ‘the Bible’ or ‘the Book of Life’. In addition to this, both arks were made of wood only, Noah’s Ark was written to be made of Gopher wood while the Ark of the Covenant was made of Shittim wood (acacia wood). In the land area where the Israelites journeyed after leaving Egypt, the Shittim wood was there and not only was this wood used to make the ark to keep the Covenant but it was used to make the support poles and the furniture for the Tabernacle of God. But the kind of wood that God told Noah to use to make the great Ark has been debated down through the ages of our modern times. If this particular kind of wood can be identified then possibly, we can even discover where Noah actually lived and where his shipyard and lumber yard may have been located for the one hundred years it took for him to build this ark. Based upon my research of words and letters in comparison to other historical records, not only has the mystery of ‘the Gopher wood’ become revealed but, there are many other marvels that also surface as a result of getting a better understanding of words and scriptures.
Noah could have built the ark in many various places in the world. Could he have built the ark in Africa? Could he have built it along the Red Sea or along the Mediterranean Sea or inland somewhere in the Sudan? If Noah built the ark in Egypt, he would have to transport lumber from a significant distance because Egypt was formed in a desert with the Nile river passing through the landscape watering the land. Some historians speculate that he may have built the ark in Lebanon, however, the presence of gopher wood has still not been made clear as to where it thrives. Some scholars have defined gopher wood as being ‘a hard wood’ and one account defines it as ‘resinous wood’. But based upon the very word ‘gopher’ and the awe-inspiring symbolism of the very ark in comparison to the plight of mankind, its true meaning finally comes to light. GOPHER WOOD was simply and most absolutely ‘COPHER WOOD’ or ‘COFFIN WOOD’!
The mystery behind the true meaning of gopher wood has been hidden behind ‘the letter g’! This letter ‘g’ has been sometimes replaced by ‘the letter c’ in ancient words such as ‘the Greek people’ [Creek people], ‘Greoles’ [Creoles], ‘Gupta’ [Coptic], Tocharian [Togar-mah], Gab [var. Geb or Cab; meaning ‘earth’], ‘Gath’ [Cath] and more. So finally, ‘gopher wood’ was not a specific kind of wood that came from a certain tree but, it was ‘a kind of wood that wood carvers used to make coffins!’
Coffin wood had to be rot resistant and a kind of wood that was hard and air tight to prevent insects and critters from entering in and breaking down the wood. The best kind of wood used to make coffins in ancient Egypt was definitely ‘cedar wood’ but also, pine, acacia (shittim) and other kinds of trees were also used for coffin wood. So now we know that Noah used a type of ‘coffin wood’ to build the ark. Based upon the time period in which Noah built the ark and other areas of research, Noah perhaps used cedar wood and, he probably built this great ark in the land of Turkey, the very same country that it landed after floating for months.
All the way on the other side of Mt. Ararat where the ark landed was the very ancient and famous city of Troy [var. Wilusa, Ilium & Hisarlik]. Mt Ararat was in the northeastern mountainous region of Turkey near Armenia and where the winters were long and the warm seasons were short and, Troy was in the northwestern region of Turkey near to the Black Sea. Inland beyond the City of Troy was wooded land. Even though the geography of the land would have been different before the earth split, it was in this Northwest region of Turkey in which it was famous for its abundant trees! In addition to the large resources of trees, the climate and location of this part of the earth becomes an astounding match for an area in which a lumber yard could have been built. More interestingly, Turkey was like ‘the center of the earth’ and it could have been an obvious pathway for many kinds of animals to migrate from the four directions of the earth and seek shelter in the ark from a storm they sensed would soon come. So not only was West Turkey the land where THE SEVEN CHURCHES OF GOD were one day set up but, it seems that this land holds many more wonders concerning the Holy Spirit of the Living God. For a year, eight people resided in a massive waterproof ark and astonishingly, it was also made in the shape of a coffin and made out of coffin wood! For this reason, Egyptians went from ‘Pyramid text’ to ‘Coffin text’ in recording their life histories. God caused them to miss the judgment he brought upon the world. It was as if they PASSED OVER the waters of sin . . . and then one day, it was as if they emerged from a coffin and from a tomb or a womb. It was as if they were ‘born again’!
