We live in a nation that programs everyone, including us, to despise us. It is unrealistic to think we black Americans grew up in the same nation as white Americans, yet somehow were immune to the anti-black brainwashing that appears every day on TV, in movies, and on the front page of newspapers and magazines. But, this is an inconvenient truth. We are cool with YT being the devil. But, us too? Naw, we prefer to believe that YT is the devil and that we black folks are some kind of black gods. So, we have created a new art form out of blaming white folks, jews, mexicans, asians, arabs, other black folks --- anybody else to avoid having to deal with the real deal which is that I Hate Me. We love calling each other niggers and have even elevated it in our sick minds to a term of endearment. That's my ******! Or, that's my boy! Or, whazzup up, dog! We write songs of love to our black woman, who we loving call bitch, or ho, or girl. If we don't write the songs, we will at least buy the CDs. Young brothers have made millions off of us buying their songs of praise for our self-hatred. How can I be taught to stop hating me and to love me? Like the Matrix, this is not something that anyone else can show me. I have to see it for myself. Like any other addict, I will just keep falling lower and lower until I am ready to admit that it is I --- not my supplier --- who is killing Me. |

Why does change always involve somebody else behaving differently? What about the addicts, is it wrong to expect people to take responsibility for their own lives?
I don't have to buy crack just because you supply it. I don't have to wallow in alcohol because Arabs open up liquor stores on my block. I don't have to pop pills just because people are pushing them... and guess what, addicts don't either. You can't change the suppliers behavior, but you can change yours. |

It is a mistake to think you can cure an addict by eliminating his supplier. That addict will just stay up day and night until he finds another supplier to take the place of the one you got rid of. And, as much money as there is to be made selling drugs, there will always be some fool somewhere willing to risk imprisonment and death to sell poison to sick people.

Really? I see more Asians running things in the lower-classed black communities than any other group. It is sad...

Everyone gave some excellent point! My belief is that we will continue to suffer until we get from up under and away from white people!! This I believe with all of my heart. The only things that will change our situation is outright revolution. This is just my belief.
We as a people have accepted our lot to greater and lesser degrees. Sounds scary but we gone have to bleed, kill and die for things to make a complete round about change around and among us. In the meantime, those of us who are "conscious" will have to get envolved and stay envolved with our peoples plight through community activism. I recall the New Black Panther party in Detroit closing down numerous stores that were mistreating, disrespecting, selling bad food stuff, etc in the surrounding Detroit area. This is just the tip of the ice berge of what we must do to push back further decay of our communities, wake as many people up as possible and because an example and catalist of change.. And most of all, show that we care for and love our people. |

This is because they receive multi-year tax shelters when they come to the US. So they take their cash and setup shops in areas of the least resistance, selling a product that area will hold in high demand. It's purely economic exploitation.
Most of them have aenough liquid cash or funding to invest in a turnkey convenience store. Many blacks either don't have it, or don't wish to invest in such businesses. It is a low value, low profit business however.

I have noticed this pattern of in the neighborhoods as well. Frankly, all these people care about is money. They sell what they know people will buy and unfortunately that's liquor.
There are two things wrong with this picture: 1. Arabs and Asians are coming into our communities allowing themselves and their families to take over the business opportunity that are available to our people. They keep Black people from having a chance to establish a business with their cheap prices and their cheap products. 2. Alcoholism is a serious problem in our community. Let's face it, if people didn't buy alcohol, there wouldn't be an alcohol business. We have got to sober up (both mentally and physically) so that we can see the big picture and take back what is ours. Alcohol leads to serious problems that plague our communities. It leads to health problems and it is also the root of domestic violence. While we try to take down the Arab monopoly in our communities, let's also try to teach our fellow brothers and sisters the importance of keeping alcohol out their bodies so that they can be able to seize the opportunity of having their own successful businesses one day. |
