Things are the way the are in our neighborhoods not because we won't take the initiative to open our own business neither does it have to do with local governmental activities. What you see going on in the Black communities is by design...by the same government you are suggesting we pay attention to and attend.

You sound like a complete FOOL, the outside influence will continue to operate amongst our communities as long as they have the audacity to TARGET them, you say patronize, hell yea we'll buy from them if its there, and if its the only source of commodity, because thats the commodity thats there to begin with, how about these so-called "revenue producers" start to sell things and run businesses that are HEALTHY, they run liquor shops (DEATH TRAPS) based on their stereotypical racist mentality! They have pre-conceived notions that blacks want to buy these things or would be easy consumers, but the fact is that the main one's buying and consuming this FILTH is the criminal element and the drug/alcohol abusers!

Be smart man, the majority of blacks living in these neighborhoods are not DEMANDING that these stores come here, you obviously have never lived in a poor area,(I'M BETTING YOU'RE A WHITE TROLL) because our good sistas and brothas are not asking that these idiots come here, the white government will give the arabs the licenses, and they will purposely choose black communities as their destination all because they think the whole black community is a haven for this, when its just the small bad elements that are attracted to this BS, so don't go telling a family of 5 struggling to get out the hood, that this is what they wanted,lol, they'll laugh your *** to shame!

Also the problem is that these successful blacks are forgetting our people, and chasin their wallets and white america, so they don't put forth any effort to locate their practices and businesses, in or around the black community, they're too busy doing what the white man tells em, rather than loving and respecting where they come from, I term it "WEALTHY AMNESIA", they get their white glory, and suddenly they forget everything that happened to get them there! So yes these arabs, koreans, and everybody else are profiting off of the very mentality that white america has set in these uncle toms!Thats the problem!

Things of this nature have plaqued us as a community for decades now. While I rarely agree with TS, he has a point, if this businesses disturb you so much, then there are only so many recourses that you have;

1. Don't patronize the establishment! See how long they stay in the 'hood with no customers.

2. Open a competing business built on the "BOB" slogan. Surely a Black owned Business SHOULD do as well if not better than an "other's"!

3. And this is indeed a last ditch effort, do like dragon said!!! If they don't have a store, it makes it hard to "slang them thangs"!

O.k do you think telling that to the Drug Abusers and Alcoholics, will make them stop patronizing them...lol, the main customers of these Death Stores are the criminal element itself!!!! They're the ones buying it and abusing it, not hard-working black folks that are attempting and living a healthy life,I KNOW!!! I come from cleveland where there is tons of these poison centers, and all sorts of good black folks who just happen to be poor, now where have we heard that before huh? yea but according to this white american media that stereotypes ALL blacks as criminals and lazy, they continue on by setting forth these stores all around the neighborhoods, as revenue!!.

Believe me on this though, if so-called leaders like sharpton and jackson and even these white a** kissers like jesse patterson started to outcry on situations like these instead of jumping in front of CNN and FOX, they'd get something done, but alas we have leaders that don't listen to the good quality black folks who really want change, but they listen to themselves and continue in their stubborn trump towards the spotlight!

Its no secret these shops open up in places they think they can exploit a market and turn a profit by peddling vices. But I've been to local ward zoning meetings and liquor license exception meetings with folks trying to keep a liquor store from openning up entirely too close to a public school. And it worked. Simply laying down to get railroaded by a system is hardly a solution. Patronage makes or breaks a business in the end.

eg. I've seen my black sis a nd bro going out for dinner and they would rather go to Mr Chin resturant or Mr Zampino (Itallian) or Ms Patel (Indian) or even Mr. Dabhou (Lebanese) than to go to a BLACK resturant

Why do you think I said that you shouldn't patronize these establishments? It's because you, me, or no one else is going to stop "those" people from gettin' their drink, smoke, shoot on! I truly wish that someone (with good sense!!) could talk/threaten/beat some sense/pride/dignety into the lost souls of our communities. But as the saying goes "you can lead a horse to water...." So I'm of the notion that if there is going to be degenerates in our mist who wish to waste money on the vices, shouldn't at least a Black person/business/community profit from this? And hopefully share those profit with the community?which leads to my next point

I wish any of the So-called Black leaders (we should all lead by example!) would speak out about the high concentrations of "lika sto's" and gun stores in the hood. For what it's worth yt's got plenty of gun shops in his hood too, they're just hidden better! But since none of the leaders seem to be eager to speak out against these businesses, once again, shouldn't some Black person get these profits and possibly use them to help the community? I know that selling guns or booze is a moral question but have you looked around lately? more that a few of us don't seem to have any qualms with immoral things!

I see that you didn't mention the third option, the only reason that I brought it up is that well first of all Dragon did and the other day I was driving down a street here in LA and noticed that at least 8-10 lika sto's that had burnt down during the riots here in '92 had been converted to churches (mostly Latino) so that albeit the method was extreme, it was indeed sucessful
