I don't think any school will teach AA kids about their culture, heritage and Africa. I think it's the parents job, if that is indoctrinated into the kid while the kid is growing up, the onslaught of the media will not be powerful enough to derail them.

I hear ya my u.k queen, and thats thats one of the problems as well that we as parents should work on more thorougly. But as a standard i think if we use any time that we possess, and thats when out and about with our children, or relatives, or at the dinner table, we should always speak upon positive things about our people whether than always speaking or conversing about negative aspects, in which the media feeds us way too much of!
See just like with negative brainwashing and negative pushing of a ideal, there is a sort of thing called positive brainwashing also where we could out perform the negative and racist media, by continually reinforcing being black and proud, and not settling for making our children and ourselves follow european/white traditional thinking, and it always starts with what we watch on t.v, movies, and of course the internet, in which more and more of our young brothas and sistas are into with the computer age! So thats why sites like these and any thing pro-black in life is always going to be a benefactor, because it will keep the pride and self-esteem high, that we continually lose by being fed anti-black american BS through the hollywood and news media of America! Peace.....**Get back to me**

Good Useful video that describes whats the problem behind most of white supremacy, as it teaches these children early on to hate the black man or woman!

I prefer to emphasize BRAINSOILING.
When a 3 year old is watching television there is nothing to be washed out. The media gets to decide what garbage to put in from jump street.
Even when brainwashing occurs that does not mean the stuff already in a person's mind is much good.
White people are being bombarded with much of the same consumer BS though. The ads for different products are psychologically designed for whoever the product is psychologically designed to appeal to. That is one of the funny things about just focusing on the physics and technology. Physics doesn't care about psychology. A lot of stuff is stupidly designed from a purely engineering standpoint. How many cell phones are really too small for convenient use and would not weigh significantly more if they were larger but people buy the tiny ones because they are so cute? LOL

My belief is that the entire country is brainwashed from the time we enter into the educational system through our adulthood into believing empty rhetoric and defining morality designed to keep everyone distracted and supporting ideology that is against the best interest of the majority of the country.
But that is just my opinion…..

Hello all,
I am new here but I can agree that it is a unfortunate place that we have found our people in. I myself went through life hating the nappy hair that grew on my head. The dark skin that covered my body. Now, after being taken out of my community (Cleveland OH -105/St.Clair) and being introduced to the truth I talk to me friends back home and realize I can never move back. They are psychologically gone that they laugh at me for not wearing short shorts, loving every time the sun shines on my skin and I sparkle from the nutrients in my skin, and wow when I got my hair locked what kind of crime did I commit? None, I just learned to love me for me.
I have two little girls and I have turned off the cable. When live in a predominantly white community so I have to constantly remind them that they are beautiful. That they are intelligent and where they came from originally. Remind them of the great and powerful Kings and Queens that they come from. I give all thanks the 7 of my life my husband who was sent to me to awaken me from my mindless slumber.

Yea that video sums up the mindsets of most of white amerikkka towards people of color, and as you see those children had that mentality at a very young age, so omagine as they grow up, how they spread that or allow that to control how they act towards blacks, and henceforth thats why this country is so racist and shows unequality towards minorities, because they continue to view themselves and any other white as Perfect in some way!
You see how the kids pointed to the oklahoma city bomber, and said he semed like a teacher, yet the black man they said seemed like a criminal.....Horrible!
In turn our own people have picked up that same mentality and it is a root cause of the divisions and hatred in our community!

So very true. The 20/20 episode is kinda reminesent of the ABC News Presentation which aired in the 70's and addressed racism and racist perceptions through feedback from participants in a Racial Experiment.

My sista that your family did not reinforce love for yourself as a Black Women. In order for a Black child to embrace the skin he/she is end and understand the struggle of our ancestors , their parents have to secure within themselves. Otherwise, ignorance bigots ignorance. It's good you're taking the first step to break the cycle now by conversating and staying infomed about Brothas & Sistas in our struggle. As always, we keep the FRO in the Chat. No doubt.

As for your supposed community affliation, it interesting to say the least. Let it be know that your community has some strong proactive community leaders / activist on board and celebrities(who were raised in the area) according to what I've been told (i.e Fannie Lewis, the Honorable Mayor Frank Jackson , Terrence Howard, Steve Harvey,John Henton,Bones Thugs & Harmony just to name a few).
So being from that particular neighboor hood isn't an excuse. More or less like any hood, you have the choice to be active / offercoming the obstacles, defying the sterotypical image placed upon by the powers that be. Or, you can buy into the sterotypes standing there doing nothing with your life selling your body/soul . The choice is yours. The sucesss story of many Brothas & Sistas from Cleveland speaks for itself.
