What this whole farce and phony 'expose' is also revealing are the colored and black reactionaries for who they are as well...

It is to them that young colored guy running for president is expected to prove something to...

I just expect him to show me he has more guts...

Anybody can just make a nice speech...

FYI...

Later...

Peace...

Chuck:

Good evening, poster...

But, my goodness, seventy percent of the children who continue to attend Detroit's public schools, (and others who go elsewhere too), are being raised by single females, also who probably need and want as much support, just keep a roof over her and her kid's heads, etc.!

So, are you factoring that in to your equation, i. e., as regards how the black family as I (or you) grew up in the midst of, may well be the exception (not the norm), ala 2008?

Though one can easily guess you're also asking yourself next too!

As in:

"Where's the daddy?"

I ask instead:

So what are some of those colored and black (biological adults and biological fathers) all about their damn selves?!?

Folks are trying to play off the aborginal as normal and natural for us...

I say (and write):

Based on what?!?

Even my two distant enslaved african ancestors (both children) got taken in and raised as their own by somebody else's parents too:

So flashforward and I tire of some folks self serving cop outs (as well as how some expect to win their argument by default)!

In my case:

Don't bet on it!

Folks used to amuse me by saying/writing on these forums to 'keep it real':

I say and write it's long overdue for us to BE for real about the unresolved issues and problems we need and should want to be a part of resolving ala the here and now...

Be for real, folks:

As per usual?

The only ones we can expect to save us is us!

Nothing new or news about that!

FYI...

And another one from a friend of the family...

Take care...

Later...

Peace...

Chuck:

If being a child of the sixties taught me anything it is that some folks of other ethnic groups continue to see us as a means to their ends too?

So the guy of Jewish descent who originated this tirade against black folk awhile back is as reactionary as any white christian fundamentalist!

Hence--even within the context of playing it their (the whites) way--black folk represent a bigger minority vote--and more than all the rich jews in NYC wish they did!

You say it's as easy as connecting the dots:

A lot of folk don't even want us to take it that far!

Simply put:

No true black agenda...

No plan of action for those black elected officials we did put in office...

Etc.

That is why everybody plays us (as in cheap and close)...

Others don't take us seriously at all!

Some settle for pick up baseball games in da hood:

Others wind up being professionals and going to the playoffs...

And dare I to add this:

"Go Pistons!"

(Smile)...

Later...

Peace...

Chuck:

Unless and until we can show folk that merely playing the victim won't gain them much (if at all) in this near recession like siuation more than our folk are having a difficult (if not impossible) time coping and dealing the midst of?

Unless and until we face up to the fact those schools and suchlike continue to be run and propped up on the basis of ideas and viewpoints which weren't meant to advance our and our peoples best interests to begin with?

Unless and until more of us move our judgement calls above and beyond what is merely 'acceptable' at the moment (or being hyped by a mass media we hardly control the content of etc.) and do our own homework (be it seek out articles ala the internet or newspaper sources we did or do find reliable sources of information on the subjects we claim to be so concerned and worried about)?

Unless and until more of us begin the realize and recognize that 'getting involved' isn't just an 'option' (for a few ) as well as should be a necessity for us all?

Until the way most (if not all) of us think and act these days goes from mere reaction and overreaction (to the alleged slights or real threats others direct our way) to us being pro-active (as regards self help efforts to iimprove the places and spaces we live in)?

Then nothing will change anytime soon!

Change folks thinking and their actions will reflect it!!

FYI...

That is an extremely important point. And, I would add the corrollary that we, each, must be careful not to come up with solutions which involve waiting for someone else --- white people, or other black people, or who ever --- to be as good as we think _me_ is.

If we each fix _me_, there will be Peace On Earth.

That is deep. I feel overwhelmed when I think about the prison rate and the abortion rate. I feel as if my race is under constant attack. When I consider African peoples from the continent of Africa, I feel that as an African American, I am the minority of minorities. I could not imagine wanting to be in another country for this reason. I would feel totally loss and without a voice.

IMO, Institiutional Racism, will never be addressed a political arena, so these issues will remain with us - unresolved.
funny, the presidential candidate most blacks are supporting doesn't have a history or agenda to address any of these....oh and he's 1/2 black!

More or less, it boils down to how one is raised. One is product of their immediate surroundings or external environment. And in Obama case, his Caucasian Grandma raised him to be oblivious to results of Institutional Racism and how it effects the Black American Urban Community.
