It's easy to sit at our keyboards spouting "revolution" but it's a whole 'nother thing to actually do the meaningful organizing y'all are only discussing.
Let's move beyond flapping our lips and exercising our fingertips...
|
im currently involved in a community group of revolutionaries, im new to it, but we do community work and are trying to organize a blood/crip truce in our community. we're holding an event or two, but we constantly preach you culd say..trying to spred knowledge. Knowledge is the first step to understanding..we can't ask them anything if they don't know..so we teach, while also learning ourselves, we recognize the problems, and we're taking small steps in our community before we can go world wide. My plan is to get some american organizations up here, or us going down there and opening chapters so that more people can access the knowledge/resources and we can really start the revolution..but as i said, we're taking small steps now..but they r steps none the less.

Actually, i never asked about what "other people" are doing... that's not my concern.
I'm more interested in what the three of you (who already spoke out) are willing to do with the ideas you expressed. I'm more interested in building on the sentiments only voiced in your messages. I'm more interested in giving those ideas real-world form and substance.

There's no need to get all defensive... i'm not trying to challenge, berate, or question your standing. I am, however, boldly encouraging you (and the others) to do a lot more than just discuss organizing. I'm encouraging you to actually do the kind of organizing you've written about.

Thank you, fellow warrior. It's true that you can't overthrow a corrupt government without bloodshed, but imagine what the Black Panthers had to battle during their war with the government. If there's a "peaceful" way to overthrow a government,I'm for it. But,at the same time, you gotta think about the brothers and sisters who died to improve the plight of our people. We can scream and march all we want, but actions speak more volumes than words.

My brothers...we can all agree that we want to improve the plight of our people, but fighting amongst ourselves isn't gonna help anything. Let's just agree to disagree, because there aren't many conscious brothers left. However,I will say that I am proud to see two brothers have a difference of opinion without killing each other.

im sorry..but i can't see a peaceful revolution..i'm sure you all heard brother Malcolm's speech..no such thing as a non-violent revolution..i agree..as sad as it may be..reasoning cannot work..
quoting dead prez: we all want peace, problem is the crackas want a bigga piece..got it where the niggas can't get a piece..
its in a position where the gov wuldn't even think about it..recently in toronto a black-centric school was proposed, to incorporate some type of black education to black students..you should have seen how fast the gov shut the idea down..they're still holding debates..but we all know the outcome..
The end is near..times are changing, the final days are appraoching..we'll shed blood for more than just the Black revolution..soon we'll be fighting for people revolution..thats why we need to be organized from right NOW.
Bless

I'm not sure about these Internet revolutionaries. Not directed at anyone in this thread. But I joined another board, a Black board. I was banned because I said I didn't trust people who celebrated their white ancestry and I didn't seek any alliance with Native Americans. It sort of soured me though, against any of the information I come across promoting revolutionary thought. If a Garveyite can be banned for stating the obvious something is wrong with the supposed movement.

Let's all learn to distinguish between "fighting amongst ourselves" and struggling with one another (principled dialog). In order to achieve greater clarity, develop reciprocal understandings, and establish mutual respect We must learn to deal with our differences, disputes, and disagreements with diplomatic skill, tact, and wisdom.

Agreeing to disagree does not resolve matters. We have to decide which is more important: winning an argument or working things out.
I believe We must settle things, work them out, in a principled manner — without taking stuff personally and without alienating one another over our opinions and perspectives. We can never work things out if We stop communicating or only discuss subjects that are "safe" and comfortable.

This is the way it should be, regardless of how passionate or heated our exchange might become. At all times We must remember that We are not enemies... that We must learn to struggle with one another so that, together, We can struggle against our real enemies.
