Dear Fellow Members:

For DECADES, and from every geographical location, there has been a letter "floating around" titled, "The Willie Lynch Letter." Below is a link that I would like to share with you all that absolutely REFUTES the authenticity of this letter that, unfortunately has been "subconsciously adopted and practiced" by many of our people. From scholar to student, from church to coffee-houses, there have always been differing perspectives/opinions about this letter. Hopefully this essay will provide new insight about this letter.

The sole purpose of this letter has been only to demoralize and curtail the progression of our people. This letter, like so many other "monsters" that are created to discount Black people is an urban myth," just another "monster" put out there to cause discord and to confuse my people. Then, hopefully we can all finally DESTROY, "one more urban monster."

Did some research on the so called Lynch Letter almost two years ago. Found out then it was a farce. However, old habits die hard. It seems impossible for many to change their view as it relates to the authenticity of the letter and that it never really existed. So now, I rarely comment when the subject of Willie Lynch rears its ugly head.

The aspects of the divisive slave mind are still visible in the rap videos and converstations of many youth, The Report from Iron Mountain, The Gemstone File, Majestic 12 and the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion may be disinformation, but they all do carry some "Truisms"
Until we remove ourselves from our personal prejudices of class, color, body wieght or Caribean vs American or East coast verses West coast, that document will be a testament to our lack of unity and not the cause.
Machialvelli was executed for writing "The Prince" not because he espoused them there ideals,
but because he protested against them!

The document is not a testament to “our” lack of unity. In fact, more often than not it was UNITY and not the lack thereof that caused the survival of innumerable victims of slavery. It was UNITY and not the lack thereof that caused leaders of the freedom movement to go against what was considered normal and prudent and fight towards achieving their own “stake” in society. It was UNITY and not the lack thereof that assisted those who chose to revolt despite knowing they would have to suffer unthinkable physical, emotional and mental abuse for having done so.
You see, the very essence of this letter is the problem. It would have us to be believe there is no unity. It would have us to believe we are so at odds with each other and within our own communities, that true progression is a figment of our imagination. So yes, what we really need is not embrace fables such as these and not rely on half truths because they allude to a greater ill. That fact is, many are progressively aware and taking steps to educate others on the same.
Are there problems that need to be addressed in our communities? Certainly. Does it take some made up divide and conquer strategy to do so? NO. We were intelligent enough to work together and create institutions of higher learning, make inventions that changed the world and survive hundreds of years of oppression by evil slave masters...we can certainly find a way to succeed without "willie lynch."

Doesn't matter..either way that bastard ****** up our people then,and that's why we're ****** up now! Our people believe that we should try and be peaceful with the enemy! You might as well sleep with the devil and wake up in hell! We're in hell right now,and unless we wake up and realize that genocide is being committed against our people,we are not gonna survive!

Not sure who the "ba****d" is you're referring to. Regardless of who "he" is, I'm not in hell. Neither are those around me. Far from it. Work to do? Yes. But why must we buy into the notion that we are all going to meet our demise sooner than later unless and until they extend an olive branch?

You really should focus on reading more. It's an art you know. But it's not difficult to master. My friend, I'm not sure who you are or what your agenda is, but it would make for a much better conversation if you would respond to what is actually written instead of out of displaced emotions with no foundation. Seems to be a continuum looking at your responses in other threads. Geeesh...
