When I first read the Lynch letter a red siren went off when I saw the "n-word." It seemed out of place for a document circa 1700's. I did a google search and found others who felt the same and pointed out other inaccuracies. I have no doubt it is a fraud and should not be acknowledged by our people. The author should make a public apology. In it's place I would recommend anyone read Breaking the Chains of Psychological Slavery by Dr. Naim Akbar. I read this before reading the Lynch letter, so the Willie wasn't saying anything new. Coincidently, the Naim Akbar book was given to me by a white man with dreads.

Just to let you know there are ppl following this thread that's observing these events with your keen perspective as well. If truth is your foundation of how you formulate your thoughts then I wouldn't be too disturbed by anothers opinion.

If the letter isn't real then what is the purpose of this letter? Is it intended to help us or hurt us?

To rile us up. It's been a while since I've read the letter but I remember the gist of it. So if it isn't true(my guess is that there was no willie lynch) someone wrote the letter to 'change' the behavior that he or she deemed was the result of slavery.

Interesting...and it very well could be. I cannot and I will not refute your position on this. Thanks for the response.

The letter, IMO, only serves as a window to how treatment of slaves in NA were treated. Since the letter has failed authentication by a variety of sources, the only thing it could be used as somthing to ponder.

Isn't that the letter saying black's are killing themselves? I've found a lot of black people send that around in chain letters..as a reverse-psychology tactic. It's more to open our eyes than be a fact...personally it just annoys me to see or hear those things, I'm not one of those people who aren't aware of the world we live in (imo..). So I think it wasn't supposed to be considered a factual document, but rather a tactic to wake people up via shock value. But obviously that's failed.
