Megachurches: spreading the word or straight pimpin?

I've heard how it can determine where your sitting while at church. There was one church that I use to attend and one day I noticed this drawing of a new building. On it the pastor said that this was the vision the lord gave him and it was a brand new church. There was nothing wrong with what he had but I just felt it was buying into all the other mega-facility type of hype.

Many Megachurch preachers are prosperity pimps.... that's why i don't pay them any attention. My small country church is good enough for me.

CNN had a peice on this very issue tonight. They mentioned Creflo dollar among many; staying in 12 million dollar homes while the poorest of their congregations sacrifice bills to give to the church.

Yeah these churches are straight pimpin people, foreal. the sad thing is, they got ATM machines in the churches now. Oh how sad it's gonna be on judgment day

Well, the Congress is starting to ask questions. Go to any Mega Church on Sundays and you will see the offering basket get passed around more than prayers.

BlingMasters Eddie Long and Creflo Dollah-bill have expressed verbal opposition to the Government's financial inquiry into their purses and operations.

Now, before Bush Administration came into office, I would have been dead against this. But now, seeing that neoconservatism has hijacked religion and allowed taxpayer dollars to support faith-based initiatives, I am now in favor of the inquiry.

I'm curious as to why these churches:

• Need mega churches the size of basketball stadiums
• Are now allowed to influence the political process when constitution clearly supports separation of church and state.
• Need corporate leer and gulfstream jets
• Need Yachts and millionaire toys
• Need 5,000 dollar suits, diamonds and bling when a robe will do.
• Need 3 worship sessions a day; all brining in untold amount of money from the poorest of the congregation.
• Need software to monitor the financial compliance of church members.
• Need to hide their financial earnings and expenses from their own congregation. No one knows what they make and what they are doing with it, except the banks.

The biggest question for me is: Are they paying their 10% of income to do god's work? And what are they doing with the remaining 90%?

Well I'm in Dallas so I'm sure yall know what church I'm talking about. It's a mega church in the hood, poverty all around this massive building. Escalators (spelling) in the church, ATM machines and you are seating according to your income, now where is God in all of that. Preachers/Pastor's is the new dope game IMO. People believe in that fairytale book so strong that they believe anything coming out of their mouths and it's a shame that the bad one's take away from the good pastors doing their thing. I forget the guy's name here in Dallas that got busted for druging women and raping them, he gets out of jail and get's stopped he's got drugs in the car and it happens again. He was balling out of control. Dayum shame.

see thats what i'm talking about. atm machines in the church?..... see that don't make no dam sense. and that's why i'm agreeing with you and dblack. this is what they are doing with thier hard earned money.
