I am a Black separatist because....?
Today during a discussion on a site I often visit, I was saying that I choose to date bm only and would teach my children to only date and marry Black people. For saying this I was accused of being a Black separatist, a racist, never going to find happiness in a relationship because I won't consider IR dating etc...
I was literally attacked. But the worst part of this is that this is a site that uplifts natural Black womens beauty and all the women who came at me were Black!! I was also attacked for saying that, if I had a Black boy child I would teach him the beauty of Black women and that we are attractive and worthy of admiration!!! I was told that I should teach MY child that all women were beautifull!
Mind you, the subject was originally about Black men desiring non-Black women and placing them on a pedestal over us. They had a problem with this but also have a problem with teaching our boys at a young age to put Black womans beauty on a pedestal I told them they were contradicting themselves. What is going on with us?
How does the NA fam feel about this subject? Do you feel that dating Black only makes you/me or anyone else a racist and a separatist?

Of course not it makes you ethnocentric or Pro-Black not racist. I mean if you were to hate other races and don't want anything to do with them that would make you a racist.

I think it depends on the reasoning. If its the same polarizing view, then possibly a person does have some things worth examining.

What is wrong with wanting to keep my people and heritage alive? I don't have to get on the bandwagon of breeding Black children of the face of this earth.
100 years from now I want my predecessors to still be able to be considered American of African descent. I expect my great grandchildren to have some sort of resemblance to me and the father. I want my blood to stay strong..

There is nothing wrong with that, but would you disown your child if he or she were to go out with someone from another race?

I would be EXTREMELY upset and unhappy, but I would teach them from the youngest age that this is not acceptable and they are expected to find Black mates to keep our heritage strong. I would teach them their history and remind them constantly about this.
I would put into their minds that they owe this to the survival of their/our people.
All this would pretty much detour this possibility. Would I disown them? They would probably feel like I did. We must stand for something and be principled as Black people

Both sides of the argument presented seem pretty strange. The opposing view presented seems to believe that there is only happiness in an interracial relationship (or at least the option of it) and the other side, which is supposedly bro black, presents an opposite polar choice that you cant acknowledge the beauty of women from other cultures because it will mean you're putting them above black women and you should only date your race.
These options don't really reflect genuine reasons to do it or situations on either side.
I guess this is what makes these IR dating debates a bit tiresome for me.
As for being a racist or a separatist, I think it should be judged in context of the person presenting their view and their reasoning. There is no blanket generalization that would be accurate or productive. I find anyone who talks about preserving blood disturbing no matter who does it.

Who said that other women weren't beautiful? It is the beauty of these "other" women that are lifted up as a whole in THIS society to began with. I didn't start this ish.
What is wrong with wanting to preserve your ethnic bloodline? It is hard to explain the importance of this to a people who lost their culture and ethnic ties through slavery. I'm not trying to sway anyone over to my beleifs anyway. This is how I feel and I can't think of any reason more genuine than wanting to keep what is left our culture and physical attributes alive through homogenity.

I think you have the right idea teach them the values and importance of our race. Now you have to also realize that life has different twists and turns that might lead people to different paths than what they intended or supposed to go to. But if you teach them well even if life were to lead them to different races, at least they wouldn't be like those who bash their own race to suck up to others.

No, it means you have racial pride and want to see your people survive and thrive. There are so many people who have fallen for this BS. Now while black folks are lining up to love everybody else, it seems many don't even have self-love. It is sad.
