Let me hit you with a big one. My mother was black, but she did not want to identify with anything exclusively OF our race. If I had not developed a social conscious in the shadows of Stokley, Angela, Martin and Malcom, I probably would not have any black conscious at all.

PROBLEM:
Quote:
|
the "blame" lies with the system of global white supremacy which makes war upon black peoples where ever they are. we are under attack and suffer casualties world wide. the blame lies on the devil.
|
Awaiting solution...............???
Can't keep blaming whites for our failures "all the time" especially when so many of us now have money and are in office. Not saying that they aren't a problem, but at what point do we move forward and provide our own way, especially with so many of us in power and with money? The richest woman in America is black (Oprah).

yes, we can blame the system of white supremacy for our situation. when you own and operate a system for your benifit, you are responsible for everything that goes on under that system. the system of global white supremacy is based on the subjugation of all peoples. the "failures" of blacks are to be expected under a system designed for blacks to fail.
you mention Oprah and other "wealthy" blacks. has the situation for the grass roots black changed one bit due to Oprah's money? no. why? Oprah is programmed under a white supremest system. she will not uplift black people.
she is there as a decoy, just as you have used her here.
white people are the devil. they have caused and continue all that is bad. they take the blame.
they are destroying the very earth as we speak.
the white man is the problem, the black man is the solution.

The white man is "one" of the problems. I only listed Oprah as you don't know Michael, Carlos, James, Ricky, Leroy, Jackie, Neesha, Sheriel, Margie, or the other black people in my neighborhood who have "overcome" dispite the "white man" being "our" problem. I don't want to loose sight of this topic, but yes they are "A" problem, but not our entire problem. The first step to moving up and doing better is realizing that "you"/"we" have a problem. Then and only then will we "overcome." We are on the same page but when will we tire of these "woe is me, the white man is holding us down" threads or "I can't make it because the white man has a gun to my head" type mentality. If that were the case how could the likes of Madame C. J. Walker, and Ben Johnson succeed way back when, even when times were way worse and they weren't allotted the luxuries that we know enjoy?
Weren't you the same person that posted a thread on here not even a week ago saying that we always come up with problems, but where are the solutions?(or something to that affect) Not taking our own advice, are we?

Well if their black fathers were around, those kids wouldn't have to rely on their non-black parent to teach them about their history.
Although i think more often than not those type of people that have little or no involvement in their kids' upbringing aren't the best role models to teach anybody anything.

the first step is realizing that we do not have a problem, the devil does.
then we can dispense with him altogether and move forward.

do you honestly think i am saying "woe is me"? i have many posts on the net. do i seem like a cry baby to you? really?
in point of fact, the white man is holding us down. that is what white supremacy is designed to do. they have us so brainwashed that to even point out the oppression is to bring cat calls from the oppressed. "woe is me"?.
you cannot stop him from holding you down if you cannot even admit that he is, can you?

Remember that movie Losing Isaiah?
Losing Isaiah - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Not to say this whole conversation is based on a situation like that (being that the character Halle Berry played was a drug addict) but the constant theme of race was played in that movie. Jessica Lange could not understand what Isaiah was going through as well as Halle when she got Isaiah back in the movie. Hearing everyone speak on this made me think about this movie. Before race can come into play, it honestly is all about responsibility for the child that needs to be taken into consideration. What we are talking about here is giving a child lessons in who they are as black children. Can a white woman do that? I don't think she can if she's going to always involve race in everything that the child does; she will more than likely not be able to relate. She can raise a man; from a basic perspective of teaching usual things such as brush your teeth, iron your clothes, and etc. Raise a black man? Hmmm. If you are parent of a different race of a the child you are raising, tapping into their heritage and trying to school them on it is a challenge within itself because of the actual personal relation that is there. Good topic.

Remember I said they were "A" problem, so yes I can and have admitted it. I just refuse to blame them for all of our demise. And no, you don't seem like a cry baby. I've always loved reading your posts and have a great deal of respect for you although I've never met you. I was sooooooo happy upon your return to AC. We just don't see eye to eye on this "white man being our one and only problem" thing.
I still fail to see how they are holding "us" down. Walk with me for a moment......
1. We are born. It is up to our parents to instill in us values, morals, and the mindset to want to do better. It has to start right after we are born.
2. We have "our" own schools - both private schools and universities to teach our own.
3. We have "our" own businesses - restaurants, car dealerships, loan companies, banks, airlines, TV stations, movie producers, actors, actresses, etc.
I don't see how they are holding us down.
