No matter where you go , you will feel like an outsider when you're new. And it will appear that your views are disregarded.

Just like being the new kid in school. Territories are already marked and you have to have the courage to take the heat.

All you have to do is come in , test the waters , get comfortable and stake your own claim.

True and I think it is even more so on the web.

Y'all are nice. Thank you again.

But you know, the web sure is funny.

Back in the day, I tried out Destee and maaaan... if I tell you that sister had us on lock-down.... We couldn't post nothing, say nothing, we couldn't even blink without her laying down the law. Plus the set-up was messy over there and if you so much as suggested improvements your a-- was gone in a minute.

Then BET and them white womens ragging on sisters...

And AOL which to me shoulda just been set up been for crazy folks looking for lust in all the wrong places.

Then what's even worse is if you ain't right in the head and do continue to post on them forums, you start to think that the person/avatar on your screen is real and your enemy. So you walk around all mad, plotting, scheming coz they said something to you that you didn't like... I had to check myself a couple of times because I really thought Soy you done lost your mind fighting with this computer...

Over the years I have been thru many forums, yahoo groups, etc and ITS ALWAYS THE SAME! There is always some degree of paranoia, suspicion and hostility towards new people. Troll calling, multiple identity accusations, etc. There is always some degree of flamewars between longtime members. Then there is also a plethora of valuable interaction and information. Welcome to the internet. Most people would NEVER act how they act online in person. They would fold like a lawn chair.

Well Said Sista Celeste. It's great to see a forum that's created by one of us and addresses the issues focused on us. This is an online revolution.

There's no hostility here towards new members. As an adult community, we expect members to come correct, that is all.

And there's never been any flamewars or cliques here. They will not be tolerated.

Everyone here is expected to be respectful, pro-black, and mature.

And we are very upfront steadfast about being pro-black. Yes, we all get 'rowdy' given the right topic or post, and no, no one here is perfect.

But we are all AFros!
