I have more, as well:

Parents who put partner before their own children, by trying to be more concerned about their partner's children

A woman wanting a father of children whom he was hardly around during growth period not to consider wanting to be in their lives after they reach a certain age because she wants the man for herself, even though she has children of her own who had to be raised by her alone

Regardless to old standards working successfully, the thought to ban spanking children as a corrective training tool. I am not talking about abuse, but spanking!

Real talent being overlooked in order to push one's name out there by dressing them up in hardly a stitch of clothing.

Continuing to hear about Isaiah Washington's remark referring to another actor's lifestyle choice, and comparing the slur to the 'n' word! How in the world?

People who think we are ALWAYS the victim!!
People who stress themselves about others affairs that do not pertain to them.
Women who think they own the whole race and take offense to every move a brother makes.

Not trying to be funny but sadly what you all discribed are mostly people that belong to a religious organization...:( ...Which is one reason why I stopped going...I found a person for everthing you listed...After that I felt like i was better off being a sinner but enough knowledge to know and believe in a "Greater Being"

Yes... I could never please that particular congregation...I wasnt praying enough, my dress was too shortor too long, my kids needed more freedom or had too much...and of course being a single parent didnt make matters even better...The pastor was to touchy feely made you feel very smothered...preaching about lust and found out later he committed adultery with his wife sister...

You can't blame a whole for a part. I wouldn't allow that to deter me, but that's b/w you and the almighty. Pray you find the right thing for you *hugs*

That's definitely a true statement... which brings me to my own list of annoyances. :whistling

1. Preachers who hinder the spiritual progress of others because their lives are not exemplifying the message they preach.

2. Preachers who are out for a quick buck... (not all churches are bad, but when you have people begging and pleading to send a special $1000 offering-and aren't even called by God to pastor to begin with. )

3. People who are always commenting or having critical opinion about a totally non relatable issue they have never dealt with firsthand to even comment.

4. People who are always worried about who other black men/women they will never in their lifetime meet are dating. I don't think people owe any explanation to anyone for so personal a decision. This isn't about apathy in regard to the black community as much as it is people minding their own business.

5. White men/women who try too hard to fit into urban culture. I understand there are those who have grown up around that their entire lives, but there's way more to blackness than hip-hop and hairstyles. Ask them who Nina Simone or a question in relation to black history and see if you get an answer. It isn't any better when blacks do the same, but our culture is undermined so much already. Be yourself.

That truly is sad because I am fornuate to know of a religious woman that goes out of her way to help others- and she does have a kind heart.
