Look at the change of context when two Black people call each other the name used by whites to demoralize them. That hateful context no longer exists - because the hateful context existed almost exclusively in the mouths of whites. When Blacks use the word 'nigga', it is a way of embracing our past and relishing in our similarities. It is a recognition that we are in the same struggle. People from the Carribean, from American, and from places like Angola use the term 'nigga' in a non-derogatory manner.

I use the word 'nigga' and I use it often. But I also expressly disallow whites from embracing in the same terminology. As I should. I shook my head after reading MzKwietStorm's argument and many others in this thread. You people are confused.

True enough Brother D. It's not the word per see that gives insight into the psyche. But, its the origin and the context in which the terminology is being used which gives it its power.

Okay let me break it down once and for all....................THERE NEVER WAS A NI@@A NI@@ER OR A NEGRO

we are all in disagreement over something that never exsited we aren't ****** and never will be niggers the term has many meanings and many historys all in all it came down to the same end. the nigga is a myth nothing but a phathom we either demonized or embraced through what we have been lead to believe this so called individual is.

So lets all agree to disagree we are AFRICANS we are BLACK PEOPLE we are GOD'S

and I'll leave it at that.

Funny how we all believe in a ****** existence

The only Nigga ever on earth was the ****** you made up



Nigga isn’t a species

****** isn’t a skin tone

Nigga isn’t a medical condition

It is a mistake to import the meaning of words from one group of people to another. Especially in this circumstance, where blacks have developed a way of speaking distanced from the way others speak. Blacks don't use the word in an offensive manner to one another. The words meaning, when used between Blacks in conversation, has been adjusted. The new definition of 'nigga' is being created by Blacks, and Blacks alone. Therefore, because the new definition is devoid of any white involvement, they aren't allowed to use the term 'nigga' in the non-offensive sense. I'm sure you all understand that.
