I seen this site from another forum and I think that it is so sad but funny some of the pics that are shown. I was so shocked with many of these images that I am still in shock and do not now what to think, It makes me wonder if there is really hope for many of our people. I also wonder if many people want to change their circumstances or do they want to waddle in misery and despair.

Some of it is a shame and some people just do not know any better. If you haven't experienced anything different that's all you know. I actually used some of those pictures in a project in African American Studies.

"waddle in misery and despair."... I'm not understanding the point you've attempted to make with this thread. Because a small portion of our people choose to wear Kool-Aid 'do's n' very colorful outfits to prom n' such that means they are waddling in despair? How so?? Because those few choose to express themselves in a way you, I, and many others find..."out there" for lack of words suddenly there's no hope for our people??

I don't agree with this. Show me pictures of our people killing, robbing, and stealing for one another. Show me pictures of our people hatin' on one and then the above statements you've made "waddling in despair." "wonder if there is hope for many of our people" will make alot more sense to me.

Half the imagaes show diversity, many would call ghettoness. The others simply show poverty. I don't think it's right to attack either.

That site is a disgrace. If people want to be tacky and ghetto, that's thier choice. But to dedicate a site to blasting people that have little outside taste in appearance and clothes is a disgrace. Yes, there are some trifling images on that site, but I'm not the kind of man that enjoys putting our dirty laundry out there for the world to get laughs on. Self-hatred is not attractive.

Why would someone black even spend time to put up such a site.

I get sick and tired of people going out of their way to discuss sites and philisophies that do nothing but make us look bad, but can't find it in them to find sites and philosphies that uplift us.

And that pic of the baby was cute, not a HotGhettoMess. My daughter has more hair than many grown women, and I love her afro. But then again, I'm not some self-exhalting, bushy arse brother that enjoys blasting my own people!

First, I am a new member here and want to thank you for Afrochat. Afrochat is a very positive site for us to express ourselves and I am glad I stumbled upon it.

Secondly, I feel for our people on that ghetto web-site. I don't think most people realize.

The others simply show poverty. I don't think it's right to attack either.

I agree here. I categorize the ghetto web-site as further proof of the economic disparity ongoing in the U.S. and its affect on people. My fear is that some white person will stumble upon that ghetto web-site and use the images as apart of their racist propaganda against us.

It is my hope that web-sites like Afrochat will eclipse the self-hating, negative web-sites that exist on the Internet. The Internet has created a safe haven for people to post garbage like the ghetto web-site in an attempt to destroy and degrade our race.
