Are you proud to be BLACK?

I think that most black people forget is what makes us different then all the other cultures here in this country. This is the thing that binds us together. We should never look at Ourstory as a weakness or a failure. It should be looked on as strength. Just think about all of our ancestors’ neighbors’ family members and friends who died on their journey to America. We who are here today as a result of the strength of survival that they had. We have that same strength in us today. Even though we have variety of problems and circumstances as a whole, but I personally am proud to be part of a people who has so much strength and the ability to survive under adverse conditions. We all carry an inner strength that most others want to copy and envy. If we will just really look at our circumstances and apply all the knowledge wisdom, understanding and courage that we clam to have, then we as a people can take care of ourselves, family, community and the generations who will come behind us. We just need to continue to believe in our abilities and ourselves as a people to make things happen. We have done it time and time again. We all have it in us to do our part, to make things a little better.

No matter your financial status, religious status, political status, skin tone, or what region of the country you were born. The one thing we have in common is Our Story.

i don't know if i'm proud of an accident of birth. i do know that i am quite happy to be black as i have had much fun that i would not have been able to have otherwise. i would not want to live as any other culture. i like black people very much.

Though not very religious or spirtual, feel I am Black by God's grace. So I am very proud to be Black I feel it defines me.

God's grace, no accident. Spiritual lady, very proud to be Black...but still wouldn't have it any other way even if given a choice in the matter.

whether its an accident of birth or the grace of god; i am proud to be black, i can see no reason why i should be ashamed of what i am. after hundreds of years of being told to be ashamed, only the mentally enslaved are still ashamed of their blackness, i am proud because i no longer wear the shackles of mental slavery

power to the people!

I feel i'm blessed to be black, somehow I feel that i'd be lacking in so many areas if I wasn't. I am created after his own son.

I am ecstatic to be black n' if I had 9 lives I'd come back each time as a negro. God made me this way for a reason n' I'm glad he did because if not I'd be hatin' n' wishin' I was like half non-blacks do.

Just as I had no decision in where I was born, I also had no decision in what color skin I was born in. Of most importance is I am the color I am and there will be no changing of it for me.

As I have aged and have learned more about culture in which I live, I can't help be proud to be Black. There have been obstacles and still are obstables that have been against us but we have continued to prosper; no doubt far beyond what was expected.

Not only am I proud to be black, most importantly I am proud to be Me.
I would be proud of myself if I was any other colour or race.

Love yourself, I know I love me!
