Yes, yes, yes! Proud to be Black, happy to be Black, I embrace the word and the name and wear it like a cloak of honor and protection as I make my way through the world.

IT'S A BLESSING TO BE BLACK
I believe in reincarnation and If I can, I will be Black and a Woman for the rest of my lives. I trully feel and sincerely believe with all of my heart that being Black and Female is apart of a special blessing from the Creator. I really feel this way.
BLESSED TO BE BLACK! The rest just might as well stop hating.

i am very proud to be black, i am very arrogant sometime when i think of it b\c we were kings and queens.(i'm feeling that way now as i type). and nothing compliments me more than to have my black queen by my side. she knows me like no other (i mean all sistas)
i don't have to explain how i feel about something or how i view it. i feel everything i want and need i can find in my race. i don't mean to sound like a bigot but i love my black people.
peace!!!!

I am proud and ashamed to be black. I am proud of our dignified heritage and much of our history and accomplishments. I am embarrassed at what we have become and how a people proven to be so strong can become so weak.
I believe that all the things we do as a people reflect on me as a black person and as someone responsible for my people, I cannot have pride in our successes without feeling shame for our downfalls. However, I am optimistic for the future.

[b]I am proud and grateful to be Black. The beauty and grace that is recognized by the world is what and where I am from. The media that we are propogandized by would have us believe we are inferior and weak but the truth is otherwise. No other peoples have endured so much for so long and still risen to the heights as our Black brothers and sisters have. There is no denying that some have fallen into degrading states and been involved in situations that reflect negatively on our people. These are circumstances that are used to propogate the hateful and malicious slanders force fed to us through the closely and jealously held mass media. My pride stems from my knowledge of myself and the history of my ancestors. The education of our brothers and sisters is the only way to counteract the effects of the brainwashing we all are subjected to every day.

I know exactly what you mean. One day I was just sitting in my car and looked at my arm and I couldn't help but smile. I was raised to be proud of my beautiful black skin, but that day it just hit me like a rock how beautiful all of our different shades and undertones are....I mean simply beautiful. :D

You are right about the duality of our Black experience here in Amerika but with our successes comes admiration because of what we had to overcome to acheive that success. When we are characterized as self destructive and self hating people I only have to look at the negative images of ourselves we are forced to absorb. Throughout our history in this country we have been torn down and our accomplishments either bellittled or stolen outright by the powerful. We are influenced and effected by what we see and hear about ourselves. If you continue to tell someone they are no good they may eventually set out to prove you right.
