I think the problem with the Black intellect is that we have been conditioned to abide by the others actions. Today's Black man does not venture onto new things but onto things that have already been done. We have become robots. We went from wanting be the next George Washington Carvers and Eli Whitneys to the next Jay-Zs and P. Diddys. We follow the selfish ones ways into greed for money. I've come to the conclusion that these people attract one type of fans, and those fans are people who love to hear 1) the degradation of women, 2) the Black man talk about killing his own people, 3) the word "******" blurted 20 times over a 5 minute instrumental, 4) the joy of distributing and abusing drugs and alcohol, and 5) the degradation of those who cannot afford the "lavish" things in life. These fans aren't picking up the conscience rap albums that lift the Brother Man up. I was told by an individual that before you can love who you are you must love what you are and you've come from.
I think that instead of looking towards fulfilling someone else's accomplished goals we should look towards something new. We constantly complain about the content within our school's textbooks, yet we are not contributing to the content of the textbooks in our schools. We make up a great deal of American History. We should claim our place in it. Through my Chemistry research, I plan to someday contribute to a Chemistry textbook at all levels of education. Black people educated or working in all fields of study should take some time out to contribute to at least a section in a textbook. Let's not be ignorant to our children as the slaveowners have been to our ancestors. If knowledge is power, then let's make our children the strongest of them all.

Good afternoon, posters...

And I am coming in long after this discussion/debate thread got started...

But I have found some of what I've heard/read a fresh and original approach to how we feel and think about 'the thinkers' in our midst...

Though the flip side is what I kinda sorta consider a revisionist take on our folks present day issues/problems and coming from a self proclaimed black conservative...

As in:

That fella over on the blackamerican/com website writes/talks a lot of trash...

Or he's trying to sell us a load of bull...

Do check him out and you tell me which is which to you too...

FYI...

From a friend of the family...

Take care...

Later...

Peace...
