Sad situation . . . .
Sad, but true. I can remember times in companies where I was employed, where there were fights on the job between several different groups of young females who were having babies by the same men, and all claiming him as "their" man, and all scrambling to see which piece of the pie they could get while squeezing the competition out.
In one particular situation, the young man was a drug dealer. During breaks, the females would go outside and walk up and down the parking lot with their cell phones pressed against their ears, talking to, or busy trying to get this guy on the phone. (There were other groups doing the same thing, but I'll just speak of this one situation)
There were incidences of deliberate car damages against each other. Once one of them used the tab from a drink can to scrape against the exterior of a "rival's" car, damaging the paint. Then, in retaliation, the other one scraped the other rival's car, then one punctured the tires of another, and they continued to commit other various acts of retaliations against each other.
Some of these various groups of them were fired, but ended up, many times, in other companies doing the same things; and some of them that were in the company where I was emloyed had been fired for the same things on other jobs.
To hear them talking, they seemingly had no real goals. They talked down to the other ladies who were not living the same life style as they were, due to getting some of the drug money. They had their hair and nails done every week and picked at the other ladies, mostly the women who were old enough to be their mothers, because they went every two weeks for their hair appointments.
In one particular, ongoing thing, involving a group of three young females, who were all three involved with the same young male, one Monday, one of the loudest-mouthed, and biggest braggart of all of them came in and her hair had not been done the previous Friday as was her custom. Later that same week, one of her false fingernails got broken and she couldn't get it fixed, so we all guessed her "gravy-train" had somewhow gotten derailed!
She started being real quiet in the work place then. She even stopped belittling the other ladies in the unit and kept to herself. We later learned that her drug dealer "man" had indeed been arrested for drug dealing and this was why she hadn't had the means to get her hair and nails done. His arrest also affected the other two women who also had children by him. These other two got quiet, too, and they all just finally stopped fighting with each other.
As GLC 3 pointed out, the young woman's children, her little girls, were looking and listening, as children will do, and she erroneously thought it was so cute to hear the things they would say to her and to her friends because of what they had seen and heard their mama doing.
I'm very thankful for the old-fashioned upbringing I got from my parents, and my grand- and greatgrand-parents. Talking about naive!!! Even as a pre-teen, I was very unaware of many things that even two-year-old children know about now.
