Outsourcing jobs to foreign countries
Hey fam.I'm leaning forward in my thinking of seeing a problem on the horizon.I've been reading up and seeing trends that point to how the majority of companies in America is moving to outsourcing IT, and all other computer jobs to places like India and China because of cheaper labor, which is a smart business move.Should we advise our children or the youth in general,to get there education in fields such as Medicine,Law,orTeaching?

Certain professions cant be outsourced. Outsourcing has typically been for positions like Customer Service, Support, etc. And yes you should always teach your children to strive for the best. You say go to school for medicine, law, teaching etc., those are not the only professional avenues that our children can take.

Unfortunately, "outsourcing" in a global economy isnt new for jobs a lot of Americans used to depend on to provide work. We've all got to change with the times.

you a little late.
outsourcing has already happened.
you should go to school for what you want to.
don't change with the times, change the times.

Ideally that would be great but the likelihood of the later happening isn't too high. You can do something you love but make sure you have marketable specializations or you're just that good.

I agree...what with being supplanted because of capitalistic greed to outsourcing out of the country...there you have it. Always, always teach your children to strive for the best.

*Marketable Specializations* That is most important of all.

Education is a lifelong process. Your children's work in the future may be in areas that have not been discovered yet. Send them to college to learn how to learn.

I say we also should encourage our children to learn to speak as many languages as possible so that they will be able to compete in the job market. Also we should encourage our children to learn how money works, as well managing money. what I mean is we should start teaching them how to create wealth for themselves.
