I agree but let me ask you(and the rest of the forum)this Do you think that if men in our community were doing what we were suppose to,would our women follow us unconsciously?

I'd like to offer my spin on your question jcsump. It would be akin to...."the blind leading the blind" if BOTH are not responsible and evolved individuals. What I think is lacking inasmuch as "following us unconsciously" in many, not all, respects is the LACK of vision, discipline and personal accountability for some of our black men.

I'm speaking for myself and my lady friends and acquaintences, but I believe that most mature-minded ladies have no problem with a strong man who is confident and will take leadership, and if he leads in love and wisdom, that's a big AMEN!

I will co-sign on this statement as I don't have a problem with a man being the leader. "HOWEVER", I have had this conversation with many men - past relationships, family members, co-workers, etc. and all men agree they want to "wear the pants."
My only comment to that is I don't mind you wearing the pants, but pull them all the way up on your @ss. Meaning - don't say you are wearing the pants in this relationship and I have to tell you to empty the trash; don't say you are wearing the pants in this relationship and I have to tell you that the grass needs to be cut or the SUV needs detailing or waxing; don't say you are wearing the pants in this relationship and I have to tell you that I need my back massaged or my feet rubbed. Wear the pants, but pull them all the way up on your @ss!!! ;)

I say yes. We're naturally the leaders and it doesn't have to be unconscious for the women to follow us. Like I said before, if we take control of our families everything will be to the good. If we reclaim that leadership role our women and children will naturally fall in step with the program.

Great topic. My take on this is very simple. The responsibility is on both parties. Female and Male. It starts by being true to yourself and stating up front what you really want out of your dealings with each other. The first thing to do is stop trivializing relationships and sexual matters.
