Thumbs up Why can't black folk on this board seem to see the forest for the trees?

Black people, MY BEAUTIFUL BLACK PEOPLE, why can't many of you seem to see the forest for the trees?

Why does it seem many of you can ONLY think to blame social inequities and "problems" on the “black” and “white” thing?

Don't you see clear as day that what "THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO" talks in depth about is what has come to pass?

Yhea I know about Katrina. But what was the real reason why it happned beyond our blackness as a people?

AS AN ASIDE, HAVE MY PEOPLE (ON THIS BOARD) EVER READ THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO?

Why is it that YOU can't seem to understand that, while race is a problem in the world, IT'S NOT THE PROBLEM THAT REALLY KEEPS YOU FROM LIVING THE LIFE WE WANT & DESERVE TO LIVE AS A PEOPLE?

Why is it that many of you can't seem to understand that when you get caught up in the "BLACK" & "WHITE" "DRAMA" you're still playing the game the system wants you to play?

I'm not gonna sit up here and act like you didn't get that promotion because your boss isn’t a racist “scum-bucket.”

At the exact same time, why don't you seem to understand that this "SCUM" doesn't know what the real deal is either? He's as lost as everyone truth be told, he's mad just like you are.

My people, my people beautiful black people, WHEN WILL YOU GET OVER WHAT HAPPENED AND BEGIN TO DEAL WITH WHAT YOU CAN DO TO NULLIFY THE END-RESULT OF WHAT HAPPENED?

I'm not JUST talking about becoming well versed in "African History," nor am I talking about changing your name from "JOHN" to "BABA."

Don't get me wrong both of the above are important CONCEPTS AND IDEOLOGIES to understand. However, I’ll dare to ask, how many of us have understood these things since 1865?

How many of us, do understand these things, but still can't pay all of our bills without missing a meal once or twice a month?

HOW MANY OF US CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE STRENGTH, "DESPITE OUR KNOWLEDGE OF SELF AND ALLEGED EDUCATION," TO DO SOMETHING BESIDES SIT ON THE COUCH ALL WEEKEND, DREADING THE COMING WORK WEEK?

How has this knowledge of self, helped you to afford taking a trip to BACK to "Africa" the land of OUR original manifestation and creation?

WHY DON'T ANY OF YOU SEEM TO BE LOOKING IN A PLACE BESIDES THE DESTINATIONS WE'VE ALREADY CONCURRED AS A PEOPLE?

When will YOU finally decide to wake up to the truly paramount issues of this world and leave the less pressing issues aside?

When will we as a people, individually and collectively begin to understand that, while this world takes issue with our blackness, it’s only as much of an issue for us as we allow it to CONTINUE to be.

My people, WHEN WILL YOU UNDERSTAND THAT FREEDOM DOESN’T COME THROUGH BEING IN SOMEONE ELSE’S HOUSE AND DEMANDING THEY DO FOR YOU.
FREEDOM LAYS IN CREATING YOUR OWN HOUSE AND SETTING UP THE RULES HOW YOU SEE FIT.

This is what “BROTHER MALCOLM WAS ABOUT FROM THE BEGINNING.

This is what Minister Louis Farrakhan was talking about this past weekend at the “State of The Black Union” gathering.

And since I’m at it, I want to apologize for grouping him in with the likes of Jessie Jackson a few weeks back. I was wrong for this and the statement was indicitive of my ignorance to him as a man.

Truth be told, he was the only one talking any real since besides Mr. Bellefonte.

EVERYONE ELSE WAS LOST IN THE SAUCE JUST LIKE MANY ON THIS BOARD SEEM TO STILL BE.

The problem ain’t with ”BLACK’ & “WHITE,”
IT’S WITH YOU AND YOUR’S. The sooner this is understood and negated, the sooner we can all have what we were promised by our divine maker.

The number one problem Black people the world over face is not that of racism although race certainly is a factor, it is that of economic exploitation and disenfranchisement. Black suffer because Black people as a community are poor. The social crises that we face comes out of our economic alienation. The key to our liberation lies in the embrace of a Socialist agenda. Black people--Black Americans in particular--need to disassociate ourselves from the Democratic party and embrace a Marxist ideology.

I am in agreement with what you've said here to a degree. I certainly contended that we, as a people have been subjugated via disenfranchised the world over. However, I am not of the mind-set that a socialist movement is in order for us as a collective.

Why? Very simply socialism is contrary to the ways of the nature. Nature being the principal crux upon, which, modern day man has acquired “HIS” (excuse any potential sexism in this term ladies) understanding of "God."

In short, competition is an inherent and intrinsic aspect of our existence on this planet and on this plane. Competition is the very fabric of individual and collective eco-systems on all of planet earth. This is illustrated and demonstrated perfectly in the ebb and flow shown in the wilderness of the world. (Both “Natural” & artificial)

As an aside, I also reference history as a means through, which, to rule out a potential socialist movement. History shows us that the eventual nature of the “Average-Man” is corruption. A system of socialism, as per history, eventually leads to overt dominion as compared to covert dominion. What’s the old saying, “Absolute power corrupts absolutely.” This is a very dangerous path to even begin treading in my view as per observations of the original physical world and the history played out on this proverbial and literal stage.

At any rate, thank you for the responses thus far. I figured one of two things would happen. Either there would be a huge excess of highly emotionally charged contrary responses; or there would be no responses at all. I’m pleasantly surprised to see that I was wrong regarding either potential outcome. Again, thank you to everyone who has participated thus far.

With sweeping generalizations and equally boring assumptions and content, did you really expect to get that many responses?

I've read the Communist Manifesto, Marx's theories of social and biological phenomna that lead to the creation of conflict theory. Hell my views on capitalism and western though are enough to disturb most people. But if you want more dialogue why dont you change the tone of the thread title and your post?

The nature of my question is predicated in the fact that whenever there is a discussion about the issues that black people experience in this country, it always goes back to black and white. Very rarely is there responsibility and accountability in answers as best as I can tell and have in fact observed.

This is the basis upon, which I made the “sweeping generalizations” as you put it. The questions being boring, huh, I guess that's how you interpret it. But if this is the case, why haven't you made any commentary about the post regarding "Everyone in America being a Slave?"

Just as an aside, I'm not asking this because my feelings are hurt behind very few responding to the post, I'm asking the question because I haven't seen your response in there or any of the more controversial post I’ve put up. Furthermore, I know no one else has written anything regarding the topics of law or the lack there of to the degree or the extent that I have in the last few weeks. So again, where is your input in those areas “Gorilla?”

Most of the topics that I've read about could be considered general topics of discussion amongst any group of black people who are psuedo-concerned with the state of black folk in America today. Furthermore, as I’ve asserted in a number of post, this fact is indicative of the reality that most black folk who think they’re aware really aren’t.

As far as your views on capitalism are concerned, I'd like to hear those. However, I've got to be honest. Given the opportunity that you've been given to present those views, particularly in the post that I've been directly responsible for putting up, I question the validity of that statement in full and up front from your end.

More specifically, do you even have any views on capitalism that you feel comfortable interjecting? And if so, why haven't you offered in the recent past in post like again: "Everyone in America is a Slave? Or " "War is a Racket." etc. The examples could go on, but I figure someone with as aggressive an inclination as you seem to have, would have commented much earlier than at present moment.

Please do tell Gorilla, why haven’t you offered your “View” on capitalism, politics, economics or the intermingling of these three systems affectionately called government?

Race has become an excuse for many people's "lack of success" However, it is something that is very rea, especially in America so you can't get away from it. As long as there are black people, white people, asians, hispanics, and other ethnic groups, race will always play a part in our society.

Exclamation Race is...Absolutely Always "The" Issue*

Hotep

When we begin to think that we don't have to look at (Reality) our history and see what exactly has happen to all Africans in Africa and out of Africa...we can only make inacurate, unlearned and errornios judgements. Do to the "Fact" that we are out of our minds and in the mind of a stranger who has no history for any thing other than distruction of the planet and every thing on it...unles we are excepting those same mind sets of Crazines...any one could not help but to see...including the europeans that "Race" is "The" issue "Above" all else. Race is the number one motivation for "All" laws past and present in the U.S.A. and else ware among europeans. It should be known at this point...the "Foundation" of the so-called United States of America is built on the Slavery of the African. The "Foundation" of any structure is what holds it up! This is the same today as yesterday...nothing has changed except the African who has decided what he or she will except or not except from the so-called white man and woman. They have not changed...they only respond to our dis-satisfaction of their actions twards "Us". The "Fact" that most of the so-called freed blacks or Africans in America are still wareing the "Slave" names of the "Masters" is "Proof-Enough" that something is "Still" gravely "Wrong" whith this "System" that most think they are "Free" in. When one is out of his or her mind and in the mind of another...they will try to cling to any program or idea their enemy will come up with because they will not come up with any ideas of their own.
With out the proper "Knowledge of Self" it is impossible to rise abouve the condition of a Slave...in name and in "Carictor". Every "Law" that is passed in this "System of White Supermacy" is in favor of those who own the system and Blacks don't own anything in the Slave Masters House!

Well "mud" (shortened for lazy purposes of course). The "Everyone in America is a Slave" thread didn't really draw my attention beyond a few moments because its a bit over done in my personal experience. I just read and moved on from it because I can understand wanting some input from others on the community on a subject that interests you. I probably would've read the responses and if something developed a new angle out of it jumped on the thread as well. For example, see all my lame and boring posts about science, technology and sometimes mathematics.

I hate for it to seem aggressive but I was using a bit of the same tone for kicks somebody casually passing by could infer from your title in the language of my previous response. My humor can be a bit off color sometimes. I was hoping it would come off in context and I shall use more caution next time.

As far as my views on capitalism and the like, I'm quite lazy and unless its something that I can state briefly I dont bother. I realize that some people dont really want to read very long posts unless they have a particular interest that develops from the title or the first portion. We're all here for different reasons and activities through the commonality of dialogue.

I have to agree with you, Gorilla. Aside from my Admin duties on the site, I'm here for recreation/diversion. If a post requires me to scroll several times, I just won't bother. If it gets to be like work, then it's not recreation anymore.
