Eddie Murphy's Meet Dave
first off to answer all y'alls question, go to Film Metro - Free Movie Screenings there are several of these websites and eventually you'll run into some of them.
now for eddie's latest. the good: very funny, good script, not too derivative, fun and entertaining.
the bad: still a tad cliched, unrealistic and predictable (hey it's a comedy it doesn't have to be realistic or original, just funny).
the worst: this thing was just TOOO funny - yes that is bad when your so busy laughing that you miss the next couple of lines and this happens every 2 minutes and there isn't one part in the movie that has you on the floor.
that being said, this will definitely go down as eddie's best/funniest movie since hmm... maybe Nutty Professor I
now this was the premier and i just barely got in, i only saw gabriel union, sanaa lathan and a few other less known actors but still i hate premiers/award shows/neighborhood film shoots - they are almost always inconvenient to the public and often infringe on private residents.
now the story: remember the '90's tv show Herman's Head? this is nothing like that. it's basically about a tiny race of emotionless aliens who build a "gigantic" spaceship the size and shape of a man from earth. they arrive in NYC (filmed much better than in most films set there) looking for an rubber ball sized orb that will suck up all of the salt water from the earth's oceans so the tiny people can save their dieing world. the unwitting new yorkers interact with it thinking that it is a real person, and the aliens begin to exhibit more human like qualities like love. yes this is a family friendly movie (toilet humor and all) but everyone else will enjoy it too. i expect this to become the biggest comedy of the year.

LOL thx sephari. With that being said, I think you might've told us the whole plot of the movie. Although I saw the movie trailor while checking out "Get Smart" I think I'll wait for it on HBO or Showtime. DVR's are a blessing but I ain't mad at 'cha. Glad you enjoyed it.

It's Like That
Due to the current financial restraints the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Thanks for the info and while I'm going to see the movie (I'm a HUGE movie fanatic), I don't think alot of people will see this movie. We'll see what happens

i'm going to have to agree with the majority. i too have seen the previews. it funny enough but not good enough to pay my money to see at the movies. if my kids wants to see they'll have to wait till it gets to the 7 eleven stores or the grocery stores to use the $1.00 movie rental machine.

I hear you afrocentric on using the $1.00 movie rental machine,(the ish right?)I like using that myself..One thing that I recently started doing is trying netflix, they had a free trial,so I went for it.(plus, I may save gas cause they send through mail)the plan I use is $8.99/month unlimited(they bill after 2 weeks if I decide to keep it)..I love watching new movies at home, the only bad thing I can see right now, is most of the movies Id like to see we already have,or rented. But time will tell if I keep or not..btw.. BY NO MEANS IS THIS AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR NETFLIX!!! LMAO
