I thought the article were supposed to be about how they were builit. Its just about what the blocks are made of.
There are several books out now that tell how these pyramids were really built.

it does- they were made of blocks. each block was made of sand and other easily carried/lifted materials. and those books are not the definitive answer on this age old question (and more likely than not 100% wrong, according to the phd in egyptology tour guide i had last year).

We allready knew that they were made of blocks of sand.
I think we are talking about different books.
How did they put blocks weighing multiple tons, cut and shape them perfectly so that they fitted one on top of the other. And the pyramids were lined with certain stars in the sky at the time they were built.

Engineering New Frontiers Lecture
YouTube - How the pyramids where built in Egypt
take a look at these videos. the alignment with the stars is just as simple as that - align them with the stars.

(this may be considered a bit flippant)
Its just tombs.
It would be nice to know how and why they were built.
Yet at the end of the day, all it was a place filled with the royal families treasure and their remains. Im just not really impressed. If you want to impress me, somebody go dig up the clown or at least an ancestor of the idiot that burned the libraries in Egypt. They contained way more secrets than whats been found in pyramids.
Istlota....
On a lighter note, I did find it amusing that the head of the research team, Professor Michel Barsoum, bears an uncanny likeness to rock guitarist Joe Satriani.
RU kidding me? Somebody up in here knows Joe Satriani? ROTL
(I aint mad, his first album Surfing with the Alien was nice... its the only one I actually bought...) Still nice just the same.

True, but those libraries long ago went up in smoke. We must not forget our ancestors and their wisdom is contained in various ways within the pyramids, even though we have to look closely to discover it.
Note that Europeans understand quite well the value of remembering your ancestors. Everytime we go into our wallet, and pull out a dollar bill, there is a picture of one of their dead ancestors staring us in the face.

I dont think you want to be impressed. You have to look for information on certain topics. There are many books out. An clone from the group "Guns and Roses" band is not going to give you the real deal.
