The Rules can be reviewed
here.
Specifically, Here is the section regarding this issue:
1.1.1.2. Do not start a thread that has already been discussed. Use the search tool if you are unsure.
1.1.1.4. If you start a thread, do not reply to your own thread. Simply edit the thread to add the new information
.
1.1.3.No Daisy chaining. Afrochat has size limits on posts made in the general forum areas. If your post is too large to fit in a single post window, it must either be reduced or submitted as post in the Articles section. Large posts are more appropriate as articles. Filling up discussions which huge posts discourages participation in the threads, encourages readers to omit or scan over post and disrupts the flow of a conversation or discussion.
Whether the thread is to be merged or deleted is a matter of judgement and therefore is at the discretion of the moderator.
So far this has worked out very well so far as we have had virtually no complaints about this.
Nonetheless, your view on this is immensely valued, and the staff has discussed it. We have decided to keep with the current policy. If the community expresses discontent for this in volume, then of course we will reconsider.
thx for your input Isis7.
