I notice they used a misdirection many white Republicans like to use to try to get blacks to vote Republican: the historic racism of the Democrats.

They must think other blacks or poor blacks are too stupid to realize that the parties today are not the parties then.

Yes, Southern hatred for "the Party of Lincoln" caused them to vote Democrat for around a century after the Civil War.

But, the Republican party no longer represents the coalition Lincoln led. That coalition brought together various anti-plantation system elements. Only the "Radical Republicans" had any serious desire to truly make blacks into equal citizens. By 1900, the Republican party was dominated by the Anglo business elite; not the Radicals.

Today, most of the Radical Republicans of Lincoln's time probably would be seen as extreme bleeding heart liberals today. Today, a liberal elite (of white radicals & alienated white ethnics: many of them Jews) dominates the Democratic party and alienation from this elite & its pro-civil rights policies caused most of the hard core racists -- north, south, east, and west -- and most other socially conservative poor whites to bolt the party and go completely Republican -- attracted by their social conservatism but frustrated by their economic conservatism i.e. big business.

This is not to say Democrats -- especially the rank & file are not racist against blacks. But, whatever the Democrats often truly are the Republicans are far worse. For blacks to vote Republican would be like "a deer joining the National Rifle Association" (quoted from a bro on the radio).

I saw the ad and as much as I hate republicans, the ad is not racist. They simply pulled out a bunch of quotes made by democrats in the past all of which are true. Misleading, dishonets, yes, but not racist.

If you believe the ad is racist then you would have to conclude that the democrats they quotes are also racist, because it's their words.

What should be going on is an open discussion of Obama as a fraud and utter incompetent. No need to race bait, because it's not there.
