Totally agree on this ....

I read the book. And like every other pundit, he left me feeling somewhat disgruntled. Not because he points the finger at black folk, but because he refuses to acknowledge any wrongdoing by The System.

Brother Malcolm once said "God nor I have any mercy or compassion for a society that crushes people, and then penalizes them for not being able to stand up under the weight.” Apparently, Mr. Elder has a multitude of compassion for The System.

Phuck 'em...

We've got to remember that these aren't true conservatives... these are the neocons, the conservatives that "conserve" just enough to keep the traditionalists happy, but are the most fiscally liberal aristocrats (and allies) this planet's seen since the heyday of the Ottoman Empire.

Most "black conservatives" nowdays have been bought and paid for by the capitalist establishment... the TRUE black conservative is (ironically) today's black moderate.

Certain criticism of the black culture is valid. If people are saying that any criticism of the attitudes out there is proof of Uncle Tomism then their is a problem.

Remember Malcolm X said some harsh things; we just don't focus on that.

But, I agree with another poster that the spirit ( & motivation ) of the critique matters too.

Precisely, it is the motivation behind the words spoken that matters. What you've said thus far speaks volumes.

i didn't get the chance to read this book and from the comments i've read, it doesn't sound to be an engaging book. i don't think i'll be interested in buying this.

Never heard of this book.

The message you told wrote however is incorrect (along with the title) but I haven't read the book so I can't really judge him, if that's his idea - that revolutionaries or those who attempt are enemies, then that is in fact what he is - an enemy.

I am with you on this one. This book is another example of him trying to line his pockets by kicking another black man in the back, to the satisfaction of the white populace looking at us calling us all ignorant
