I tried sending an email and it came back to me too. But anyway here's what I said.

Subject: Letter of Encouragement--- Keep Your Heads Up!

When I heard that you ladies have been recieving hate mail from various individuals in regards to the infamous Imus incident, I decided to submit a few words of encouragement. The inappropriate insults hailed at you all by Imus has perplexed and infuriated me to no end. He doesn't know any of you on a personal level.... you are not his "groupies"..... You all are well-mannered, Polite, Well-educated Young LADIES who are working hard to achieve and/or maintain your goals on and off the court. When I was in college at UTK, I made friends with several of the Lady Vols. We had classes together and I was always amazed at the type of grades they earned. It was a requirement for them to sit on the front row in the classes so that they could perform well in the academic setting. So ladies, although you may not have the exact same "academic requirement", I am well aware of the amount of time and effort you put towards balancing Basketball and School.

During press conferences and interviews pertaining to this matter, you ladies have represented yourselves and your team well. You have expressed and communicated your views very calmly, yet openly. You have articulated your feelings without lashing out at Imus... you have chosen to not let anger control or dictate your responses and for that I have to commend you.

It is my hope and prayer that you continue being the respectable LADIES that you are. Continue to exceed beyond measure in your chosen fields of study as well as on the basketball court. You all are the Number 2 team in AMERICA for a reason. It's because you have tremendous poise, drive, and determination. No matter how many people you encounter in your life that immulate or share the same racist attitudes of Don Imus, always reflect back upon those three qualities. And never forget the fact that in addition to already achieving greatness, you are called and destined to do so much more.

I'm very proud of all of you and I wish you much success in life. As a child, when my father would drop me off at school everyday, he would always say to me, "Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude". I am going to say the same thing to you. And with that I'll also say..... at the present time, you all are soaring beyond the wind. Keep your heads held high......
