Who would you Vote for in '08 Election?
Let's have some real thought and discussion on the current candidates. Who would you vote in the White house and Why?
I will admit, I don't know everything about all the candidates, or even one of them, so please help us all out and provide any interesting information about candidates you can dig up. We all may learn something here.

Whats up D black. Man its Barak Obama, and you missed a few canidates like John Edwards (D) and John Mclean (R).
I havent had time to do too much reasearch on any canidates but I watch C-Span as much as possible. Barack is completely against the war in Iraq, and has voted against the war from day one. He was very impressive at the last Democratic Convention endorsing John Kerry. And, he's definetly...black. John Edwards is pro-war, and ran for vice president with John Kerry. John Mclean is a tough one. He acts and speaks like a democrat but is a republican. He is a army vet and very old. We really have to wait until the Primary Elections. |

although i admit that it is too early to say who is your favorite, i'm curious about the reasonings of hilary's black supporters. i ask because black folk are more likely to oppose the war yet more likely to support her, who not only voted for it but still believes that it was the right discission for her to make.

I have to go with Barak Obama.
I'll admit I was skeptical about him at first. I have been waiting for Hilary to run and finish what she started with Universal Healthcare and Barak was unknown to many of us. His position on the war makes the difference for me. I have been checking out his website and am looking forward to see what else he stands for. Besides, it would be nice to have a brotha in the White House ala Dave Chappelle..just kidding.

Definitely Barack. I don't know too much about him except he's rather new to the political scene. People see this as a downfall, "oh he's not experienced" and "oh he isn't ready" but I believe that we need someone that's fresh on the scene and that probably has a perspective that is untainted from having many years in politics.

I'd go with Barack first. I'd also love to see one of our own in office. It's way past due.He has an appealing air about him for a politician. I also am pleased that he's trying (at leas at this point) not to participate in a negative campaign. Edwards second. I liked him the last time around. Hillary last, I like her and if the other two weren't in the race, she'd probably be my first choice, if she could admit to a mistake.

Right now, I'm in favor of consistency as far as ideals, stance, and past voting history/track record...if the vote was today, I'd vote for Barack. He has yet to start talking out the side of his mouth, unlike the rest of the field. Hillary is a little suspect in my opinion because of her switchero on the war issue. I think Black folks are giving her the okay because of her husband, but she has nowhere near the personality and charisma Bill has. She's gonna have to pimp her personality game up if she wants to really connect to voters.
If I was forced at gunpoint to vote republican (cuz that's about what it would take for me to do so), I'd say Guliani. As of yet, he's being consistent with his stance on hot topics and is more liberal than the rest of the candidates on that side of the isle. Up until he changed his stance on abortion and the theory of evolution, I would have said McCain. McCain courting Christian conservatives - John McCain News - MSNBC.com (McCain & evolution theory) McCain says Roe should be overturned - John McCain News - MSNBC.com (McCain & abortion) Last edited by LadyFromThaD : March 7th, 2007 at 11:29 PM. |

BROTHER BARACK, all the way.
When he visited Los Angeles, folks (Black, White & Latino) commented: "He reminds me of the Camelot days." "He LISTENS to the people." "I could really see him in the White House.", etc etc. We're in desperate need of a change---new thoughts and new actions.
