Can you correct the misspelling of Barack Obama in the poll? Thanks.

Exactly! This election is the perfect opportunity to flex that muscle we never use in this country.

Your comment is on point. Perhaps this will encourage some members in our community to be more subjective when giving an vote to a particular candidate.

Many Blacks are pro-Hillary because of the success of her husband. They have a history, a legacy. Barack has little history and no legacy as of today. We know that when Bill was president, the economy was good to alot of blacks. That's one major plus right there.

So, it's going to be interesting to see what Barack can do in terms of job growth and assistance for minorities that need it.

The Hillary/Barack combo seems appealing, but who's gonna take the back seat - VP position?

I really don't get blacks fascination and love for bill clinton. I mean really, this man is responsible for putting more of our black men in prison then any other president. Did bill not enforce natfa which took millions of jobs out of this country?

I am being serious when I ask, what has bill clinton done for black people?

Sista, you've brought up some valid points. We can't ignore the fact that he's been buddy buddy with the Republicans for quite some time.

13 million jobs were created under Clinton's watch. Yes NAFTA was a bad idea, but a ton of jobs were generated for minorities under Clinton.

Some others that benefited blacks:

- Lowest Unemployment rate in 3 decades.
- Lowest poverty rate since 79.
- Improved access to family child care and assistance.

Here is a huge list:

Clinton Accomplishments

As far as Obama goes, I've been mildly impressed with him thus far.

For one, he's trying to walk the straight and narrow in that he's trying to heal massively divide party tensions held between Republicans and Democratics. This is a smart move, because it may sway some of the more liberal voting Republicans to his side. More votes for him. Also if he does have ideas about trying to heal this important political division, that gets him points from me.

BTW has anyone been to Barack Obama - U.S. Senator for Illinois
to check out his plans on various important political issues. They are classically democratically oriented, which is also a plus for me.

As far as concerns with experience, I doubt he'll do worse than Bush! (But I know desperation isn't a good reason to vote for someone.)

I'm also very impressed with his education plans (Search Results - THOMAS (Library of Congress), and government accountability proposals.

Please go and read about his plans. His platform is very developed. However, on Hillary's campaign website the only info I've found thus far is a shallow biography. I know this is because she's playing it safe because of her lead position, but I'd really like to know more about her stance on the issues.

Also, I'm quite worried about some statements Obama made about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. He was trying to be fair by saying that Palestinians have been victimized just as much as Israelis and this angered some of the Jewish population. He's gonna have to be careful, because the Jewish population gives a lot more support than many think they do. (That's partially how Curious George got into office...his unbalanced support of Israelis in that conflict.
Stay informed. More people need to be this critical of our candidates!

Dee
I guess I should have said this over here...sorry. Here's the link for Obama. Barack Obama - U.S. Senator for Illinois
