Learn how to read. Where did I say There's no hope for black people? If I felt that way, this site wouldn't even exist.

Your inability to comprehend simple english is amazing...! My 4yo daughter has better comprehension skills...

My statements are less about complaining than they are about recognizing the fact that none of the corporate-funded candidates have any measurable allegiance to black america, even the one whom we'd assume would.

For what it's worth, I'm not an advocate of working within 'the system' in hopes that it can be corrected. I may be reading some posts incorrectly, but it seems that some of us believe that continued participation in a flawed electoral system can yield real and tangible benefits to those other than its architects. While that approach is not without merit, my opinion is that it's just not realistic.

i hear what you will not do. i do not hear what you are doing.
just what do you suggest doing and how is that working for us?

You just don't get it! He's trying to educate you when, frankly, it should be the other way around.

It's been proven that even a monkey can pull a lever (voting maneuver).

No, I view civil rights as entitlements to human dignity, and I will not confuse the two.

As far as what's to be done: for starters, I'd suggest we stop giving so much credence to the corporate media and perform research using independent sources in the effort to neutralize the massive spread of misinformation. After becoming properly informed we can make better decisions about the issues that concern us. Once we've achieved that, "progress" will more or less 'take care of itself' in a more equitable and sustainable fashion.

to those who feel that none of the candidates are valid, that is a legitimate position.
i do not agree with it, i think it is easy, but i respect it.

now for several post i have been asking what is the positive thing that you do with that position. if the system is no good and you refuse to work within it, what is it that you do? i have gotten called names but i have not got any positive plan forward from that position. so i ask, what is it that you do?

I appreciate where you're coming from James, and I have nothing but repect for you as a man, my elder, someone who has never disrespected me and someone who has faught for his people and against this system.

With respect to the thread-starter, I won't get detailed here, but I will briefly answer your question: I subscribe to creating institutions that reflect the views of me and my people. This group exists. I have no problem sharing more of my position with you outside of this thread.

Respect,
S
