Obama 08
My only choice has been Barrack Obama...I like Hillary clinton, but I've had enough of all of the other alternatives. I believe that God has ordained change, and 08 is the year of new beginnings. We have been led nowhere pretty much all of my life, and throughout our history in this country...and we been misled by false promises and straight out lies...all the way to just being flatly told that our vote isn't needed. When I heard that, I said to myself...hmmm, I believe that they are really telling me that they are afraid of the power of our united vote now more than ever. As I study black history, I see that we truly were the kingdom builders that I read about in the bible...great builders...and now, this kingdom needs to be rebuilt, and just like the story found in the book of Nehemiah, its going to take all of us...so for as much as I am a Black man in America, when I look back to my time in Viet Nam, it wasn't just being a Black man that got me home, not at all...it was the fact that everyone of us marines in my unit learned how to look past our differences, and indifferences for the greater purpose of making sure that we could get home by doing so. As Black People in America, we need to learn how to forgive and move on. There are going to be those whose thinking will never change, black and white alike...but does it mean because they won't change that we shouldn't? I believe that if we start the ball to rolling that if they don't move out of the way and allow th ball to roll that they are only going to get rolled over by the very ball they they are trying to stop. When I was told that my vote wasn't needed, I was told that it really is, and that the best vote that I could cast (as far as they are concerned) was the one that I don't cast...but the most dangerous votwe that I possess is the one that I cast. I've been a voter ever since I was old enough to vote, and I've not been offered many viable choices by the years...but now I have one that I feel can truly make the changes that I see are necessary to make my community, and nation a better and safer place to live.

Vote Obama
Now this is what I'm talking about...it all starts by word of mouth. If we can't come together and discuss how we feel and what we think about this, that or the other, we will never be able to acomplish anything as a people. There's no doubt in my mind about Obama, and yes, I am in favor of Edwards for the VP spot...but now we have to get the word out, and we have to educate our people on the voting process, and on the value of their vote...this is a must. I thank God that there are people, Black people out here that are genuinely interested in what's going on, and are desirous of change, real change...my hats off to you all...and all I have to say to you and Brother Barrack is this: Go where there is no path...and leave a trail...the dream is still alive!

Also, and I forgot to ask this of you all...in your quiet time alon with God, please keep Barrack and his family in prayer...they need this more than anything else...we must keep them covered...I'll go so far as to ask that starting tonight, and even right here and right now if we would all send out a prayer for them...and I'll start it off...and oh by the way, this has nothing to do with what your personal religion is...I only ask that you pray for them...whether its Christianity, Islam...Hindu...Bhuddism or whocando...just please pray...we will all be judged by what we know and believe when the time comes, so we can leave all the controversy at the door...just pray.
Father God, I come to You tonight in the name of Jesus...I ask first and foremost, that You forgive us of our sins...and forgive our fathers (ancestors) of their sins. I ask this because it is our collective commission of sin that has held us in bondage and captivity throughout the generations. Father, I liftr up each and everyone that has entered this chat line, and I ask that You would open every eye, and every heart towards the concerns of Your people. You say in Your word that we suffer for the lack of knowledge, and also that we have not...because we ask not...and so tonight, I ask that You would place a hedge of protection around the Obama family, cover them in the blood of Jesus Father...cover them Father, so that we can once again get to know and love the leader of this, Your people in a way that we have not been able to do in 40 years. I thank You tonight for the trail that was blazed by Dr. King and Brother Malcolm...I thank You for Brother Medgar...and I thank You, Father for Reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, and Dr J Wright...Minister Farrakhan, and everyone one that has worked so hard for all of these yers to keep Dr. King's dream alive. I thank You for Barrack Obama tonight. I thank You because he is the man that You has given us as Your agent of change...and tonight, I/we ask that You would set Your angels around him and his family...and guard them from all hurt, harm or danger, that nop weapon fromed against them can prosper, and I pray that at the end of this first leg of the journey, that this nation and the world will be blessed by the anointing that You have bestowed on us through our brother, Barrack Obama...We thank and praise You tonight...in Jesus name we pray...Amen |

Obama 08
Here's a problem that Black folk can never seem to shake...there are too many of us that suffer from the "crab in the barrel" syndrome...I just had a reply sent to me that Barrack doesn't care about the black vote, and unless you live under a rock, that responder is probably right...Barrack doesn't care about the black vote, he cares about the American vote. Now I don't know what country you are from, but I live in America. I am not a flag waving American...but I am a loyal one...one that believes that if I can't be with the one I love (Mother Africa), then I must love the one I'm with. At 56 soon to be 57 years of age, I doubt very seriously if the back to Africa movement will ever happen, and if it does, it more than likely won't happen in my lifetime. So what that says to me is that I need to make this place, my home...a better place to live. Now you can sit around and wait for someone else to pull themselves up and grab ahold of them before they get out, or, you can let them get out and throw a rope down into the barrel so that the rest of us can pull ourselves out. James Brown once sang these words...I don't want nobody to give me nothin' open up the door...I'll get it myself...and he also sang this...I'd rather die on my feet than to keep livin' on my knees." We have here today, a brother that has to do what he has to do, and he's doing it...that's proven, just look at the work that he's accomplished in Illinois, Chicago in particular...and then look at the church that he belongs to...he happens to be under the Reverend Jerimiah Wright, and if you were to take a minute and do a search on Reverend Wright and his church, you'll find that Barrack not only cares about the black vote, but he's found a way to make our vote count, simply by seeking out the American vote. In fact, he just won the Iowa primary...just now! he won in a state that's predominantly white...he won by seeking the American vote, not the black vote or the white vote...or the cowboy vote...he won by winning the American vote, and the sooner we black folk get it in our minds that we are not just African, but we are African Americans...just one group of ethnicity in this country. When I was in the Marine Corps, serving in Viet Nam, I learned real fast that there are no black or white or brown marines...they taught us that we were all green. And when I had the opportunity to look around in a fire fight, I saw mariines firing back at the Viet Cong...not just black men...or white men or Hispanic men...I saw marines fighting to stay alive. Now the battlefield has changed for me...my war is here at home...the battleground is in the streets of every city in this nation, particularly in our communities...but the war is here, and fought on many different fronts in this nation...and I understand that if we are going to win this war...I understand that if I don't like what I see, then I need to do something about changing the things that I see...and don't like. I am not looking for another Clinton...nor am I looking to the Bobby Kennedy look-a-like-wannabe, in John Edwards. We have been blessed with one of our own, that has shown that he is a formidable candidate for the presidency of this nation. Not only that, one that is accepted by all ethnicities in this nation...and he just happens to be of the African-American persuasian...if you are one of those people who like things just the way they are, then you go right on ahead and vote for the people that have proven that they aren't going to do anything for us, or you can vote for a change of climate, but might I suggest that you get all the facts before you walk into the voting booth...please don't let them fool you because all they have is more of the same in their bag.
