Are you really being you or are you being what you're told me

Don't laugh it off cause sometimes we are afraid to be

You're afraid that the public will not accept you in their arms

So you put on your disguise to hid yourself from the world's harm

Everyday you feel restricted by the world you are apart of

Even though you know that this isn't where your heart was

But you might have some fame or some money from your check left

And now you are cool and the only thing it cost you was yourself



You look at me and say " That boy right there is such a lame"

But secretly in your head you wish you could do the very same

Be who you are in front of a crowd of your peers

And be so cool that they want to know where you got your gear

I am me and that is simply all that I can truly be
