Things That Go By
If April showers bring May flowers,
What happens if they showup late in June.
Will July get a pass,
For coming at last,
And what about the sun and the moon?
Will the lights that shine,
Reflect the time ?
Counting each hour minute and second
Is there space as well to unwind and recline,
And figure out what has been reckoned.
Things that just go by,
Without happenstance
Or pardon the interruption.
Will destroyers heal
And healers steal and cause corruption?
My thoughts are many
Each one a penny
And though they speak in silence,
They reflect the times
And social crimes such as violence.
So I pray for instruction
I pray for soundness
In quiet places of my heart,
Taking nothing for granted
Thought sometimes I don’t understand it
These are puzzle pieces that have come apart.
Emotions immediately pour out like rain
And a borrowed kiss is amiss
Leaving the brokenhearted stained
How does one move beyond
Footsteps already planted in the sand?
Don’t you find it strange?
Forgive in faith
Let go before you get back in line
For when its your turn again
Will you be guilty of the same crime?
These are just things that go by
Like the river than runs
Gently over the rocks in the morning
Constant stream
Like this day dream
Except without the yawning.
Live free and love,
All if you cannot touch the one,
Give yourself the chance
To advance like the shadow from the sun
Its cheesy but honest,
Love is alright,
Love is patient,
And certainly not overnight.
So be true to God,
Let yourself be last,
Because if you are first,
Then your love wont last.
These are things that go by
Like ships on the sea,
They move along just floating
That is way things should be.
