Something Else

[Its Ok 2 B Quiet]

Ok I got the warm and fuzzy feeling for somebody right now, so that's what this is about. This is my first time doing it so be gentle:


Usually I think about the physical first but with you I think about something else
I want to know where your head is at and all I know is your name
What do you do? How do you do it? Is that how you wanted it?
Can I do this….slowly? I really want to take my time
I find myself looking for you when I enter the room or sneaking a look at you without getting caught
When you come into my space I become uncomfortable
Can you see through me? Can you tell that I like you? Sometimes I don’t care if you know
Are we on the same page? It seems that way
But I want to be sure; I want something else
Calm, quiet, and observational at times
It is refreshing but arousing at the same time…..yes then there is aroused
That’s only the dessert after the meal
I look at your hands and your fingers wondering what you’d do with them
Your mouth that I think about kissing at several times a day
Your beautiful eyes are the most telling
While you are reserved, a look from you gives it away
But that’s not what I want to focus on – I want it to be about something else.

Welcome to the Poets Corner! Very good for your first try! I have written quite a few new pieces but haven't posted any in a while. I will though probably next month when I'm in the mood as we celebrate Black History month and Valentine's Day.

I have a few I have written but haven't posted them here in a while. I've been writing for about 2-3 years. I love the Phloetry Forum here in Afro Chat as it is my favorite. There are many talented peeps here and I would name names but won't as I don't want to leave anyone out.

Actually, I am the reigning Phloetry Contest Champion here on Afro Chat. But that was waaaaaaaaay back when you were given awards for various things on the site. After it underwent some changes, all awards were lost and we haven't had any contests since that time. Saraphen was the moderator in charge of it back then - I think. At that time though, it was just a few of us “self-proclaimed poets”. Now, Afro Chat has at least 7-8 that post regularly.
