The First Day.....

Time has flown as I watch how you have grown
Along the way the many milestones
The first time I saw your face, counted your fingers and toes to your first coo, first smile, first step, first word
It has all gone by so fast and still more I've missed.

Playing with toys and friends galore
first trip to the zoo, first splash in a pool
swimming lessons, fairs, hair done in bows
It's not fair how fast they grow

And as I watch you today
On your first day of school
I think of all the firsts that are ahead of you
I remember with fondness my mom and me
and wishing that she was here to see
how much you really are like me
and how proud she'd be
of the smart and beautiful young girl that I now see.


Dedicated to my mother and my daughter. The woman who defined me and the girl who helps me realize every day that no matter what I do, she will always be the best thing I've ever done.

This one brought a smile,because i can definitely relate marrying into a family of exceptional women Grandmom right down to the present. Same smiles,laughs and looks. All carrying on sometimes like sista's. It's a beautiful thing! Thanks for sharing.
