I Understand

She's determined to be the best that she can be.
Black woman sho nuff fine indeed.
She counts pennies and she stacks dollars.
On the bus, or in a benz
She can pop her collar.
She loves men but she's cautious,
too many scars should have left her nausaous.
Yet, she still loves,
writes poems and sends pictures to the pen.
To a man forgotten way back when.
She want to stop but she do it one mo 'gin.
Knowing that she is all this man has for a friend.
She got heart and its shows in her smile,
Aint seen a pretty one like that in a while.
Go on girl its your world.
I wish i could attach my self to you like one your curls.
She's quiet, she's sensitive, she's loud.
She's humble, she's cool but she's proud.
Doing what she gotta do to pay the rent.
If her man is broke, she'll give him, her last cent.
She's encourages when she discouraged,
Its just her natural beauty.
God put it in her, so its her duty.
To challenge her man to be best he can.
Be his backbone when he can't stand.
I love everything about her from her skintone,
dark as midnight to the red and yella bones.
Full figured to the skinny minis,
Aint no woman like the Black woman,
No sir, not any.
As a poet i harmonize,
chastise, and cry.
Ask questions over and over why.
At the end of the day Im just one man.
Telling the Black woman.
Daughter of the Motherland,
I understand.
